Checking cameras before trying to get my daughter a doe tonight. At one feeder and I noticed a big blood spot just outside the pen. Knowing I was the last one out, I first thought maybe it was a coyote killing something. Then I noticed the back hog panel was basically exploded off of the t-posts. Pull the card and check it back at camp. Sure enough on the 27th around midnight there are multiple shots of 3 hog dogs takin down a nice size hog in the pen. Guess he blew out the panel trying to escape but didn't Make it far. Shortly after two people on a UTV come in to frame geared up with high boots and head lamps. Dogs were pits and a German Shepard.

Checked with everyone and no one has knowledge. Need to check with LO. Coincidently the cows were brought back out this week too.

So I have some pretty clear pics of them. Call game warden assuming LO didn't authorize? Sure he didn't - we have hunting rights. Will possibly post them once I have confirmation of no permission.

Here is a couple of shots

Bastages. I have been trying to get that hog too. I am pissed. Contacting LO tomorrow, then the warden.

Anyone know the warden in Palo Pinto? Lost the card he gave me.

I would check with the land owner first. You might get an unpleasant surprise.

Yep.

At my old place the guy leasing the neighbor's property found out through the grapevine that the LO let any of his buddies that wanted to run dogs after hogs do so whenever they wanted to.

Not sure it really does a whole lot on 1500 acres besides shuffle the deer, but it still ticked the guy off and he didn't renew.

Dude, don't you know they can just follow their dogs anywhere as long as they return directly to the property they started on...after they kill the hog. Come on, dogs don't know what a fence is bang

Sure hope you get it worked out and it isn't because of the land owner. You get good pictures of the guys or just the dogs?

Ha, thanks for clarification. Does that mean one of my .308s who doesn't know any better can take a buck in a HF and then I can go retrieve it with the animal?

Yea, I think that the pictures are good enough that if I saw them I may recognize them. If someone in the area saw them and has seen these people before it would be a no brainer to identify. Will post once I confirm with LO they aren't here with his permission

Sucks that they knocked down part of your pen, and poached a hog. Hopefully there will be some resolution to this.

Hope you catch them. Through trail cams we caught hog doggers at our place and were able to get each one of them fined 500 a piece. Can't stand people who trespass, especially doggers. Had it happen three times now, hasn't happened since the fines though. up

Hunters and doggers need supplies. I'd also take the pics around to the local outfitters, gun shops and any place local that sells hunting dog supplies. If they didn't have permission, then you're probably not the only one they've done this to. Best of luck finding this scum.

Thanks all, trail is warming up. Lease manager already spoke to Farmer and reiterated under no circumstances are the rancher or anyone under him to be hunting. In light of the recent issues, he even said he has made it a point to ensure we remain apart. Cattle were put in the pastures this same timeframe so it came to mind. He has been provided pictures to check but these people seem to be geared for hog doggin. Guess it could be but I have already had some possible leads.

Thanks, will keep you updated.

Just got from a very knowledgeable source in that area that it appears to be an "inside job".

First they moonscape two hunting spots and now don't even have common decency to fix the pen. That is now two pens they have screwed up. One they tore up moonscaping one of the spots.

Be interested so see how we end up here.
