Man I hate to see that happen to both those animals. I'm gonna have to say predator on both cause the first buck has that damage under his eye as well. Looks like whatever got ahold of the older buck came back for seconds. scratch

Pic one, guessing poor shooting, pic two and three, yotes!

If a mountain lion got hold of one of them small deer, you would not see them standing again!

Deer sure are resilient and both seem to be healing, Deer #1 should be watched and taken out if it starts to starve, Deer #2 will heal fine. Imagine if they could talk about our injuries.

Texas is a tough place to be running for you life, there's a lot of stuff out there to mess you up.

first one looks eerily like an 8pt we freed from a hog trap opening day youth. he had rammed that cage so hard it ripped is lower jaw clean like that. it was hard to look at.

Fishunter, I don't think we have any kids like that around us. We have hunters two pastures over to the east, but we don't hear many shots from them. Could be bow hunters.

I think predator as well on the first. Both sides of his face have scratches near his eyes and cheeks. Could be teeth. I think that's the same deer on the second two. Probably is yotes getting after him now. My dad is out there tonight trying to connect with one of them.

I use to own a deer processing plant. We would get 4 or five a year with old wounds that healed over and did fine till someone got them the next year. I would shoot them just because I hate to see them start wasting away. If you don't get em don't be shocked to see them next year.
