If anyone is looking for or interested about side charging upper receivers let me know.

I just finished a production run and have them ready to go.

Pics, price, location, are these lar grizzly uppers or a machined upper you milled?

I posted a reply to this but it was deleted. Machined from Billet, pics & price are on Blackwoodarmory.com.

In Michigan, I have a group of customers (and a neighbor) down in Texas which is how I was introduced to this forum.

Remington has killed off LAR, they are no longer producing the OPS-4 nor any of their prior items.

$500.00 isn't the correct price and thank you for the input, if my upper is well received by the community I hope to be able to lower the pricing. I don't do massive production runs on my parts, I try to stay around 50 units per run. Kind of like small batch bourbon I keep my production runs low and focus on the quality of the item I'm producing. If the demand rises I would add on addition production runs while still maintaining a low number run allowing me to retain a high quality control.

To give you an idea of what the market was bearing; the OPS-4 Billet ambi had a msrp of $425 from LAR, if you could get one. In the last year the billet OPS would sell for $900.00 and the forged would catch between $600-$800.00 if you could find them.

The last Billet OPS-4 I had sold at auction for $980.00 and the last Forged OPS-4 I had sold at auction for $825.00 that was around 11 months ago and they have rarely popped up sense.

Right now I do have a few of my uppers on gunbroker for a discounted price.

I really do appreciate the input and keep it coming.

Not sure this is a correct statement.

I believe LAR uppers are still being produced just only sold to dealers . Was the last I heard . And yes tons of stuff sold for way more than its worth within the last year . I've bought a LAR upper within the past year for $320 ....

I'm sure with the right price u could probably have a hard time keeping them in stock .

I was a LAR Grizzly dealer & they are no longer producing anything.

In January about a month after Remington bought them they switched to dealer only sales and you had to have an FFL even if you were just ordering uppers. Then they ceased the sale and production of the LAR Grizzly complete upper assemblies a few day later. At that point the writing was on the wall and it was only a matter of time before they ceased all complete rifle sales and then the OPS-4.

I had a standing order of 20 units a month with them and in February orders weren't being shipped and the reason being was a "shortage" of bolt carrier groups. By May not a single order had been shipped sense January.

The Gizzly department (LAR is the manufacturing & Grizzly is the retail) was with out a single staff member, they all "left" the company. Not a single email or phone call has been returned to any dealers sense May.

Currently the LAR facility has been retooled and it's only running production for Remington.

$320 was the retail price for a Forged upper,We all know Billet is much more expensive then Forged.

Like I mentioned if my upper gains traction in the community I would love to be able to offer them for a price of $400-$425. Which for a billet Upper with a nickel boron coated M16 BCG is a very fair price.

I've seen a side-charging upper, at a website, that I can't remember the name of. I was searching for gear, so I had like 50 sights up. It was 7075, billet, normal looking black coat. No BCG. I didn't look near as clean as the Grizzly. I've passed it up a few times. If I see it again, I'll post it up.
