What load/rifle did you use? Used my .270 Sako scoped with a 2.5-16x Bushnell 6500 off a bipod from just over 300 yards across the ice . Shooting 130 grain Nosler Partitions. Ballistic tips might be little more effective on the wolves but as long as the shot placement is good it makes no difference and the partitions do a lot less damage to the hide.

I was visiting my cousin who runs a trapline in the area and is actually the pro when it comes to getting theses guys. He did all the hard work - I was just the tourist who happened to pull the trigger. Photo is of him, temp at the time was hovering right around 0F, when we went to take my photo the camera froze up and/or batteries quit because of the cold (we'd been out several hours with the camera in the bag at this point). Regarding the mount - If it was me I would want a full body/action pose. I don't have room for that (plus it's a lot of $$$) so he (cousin) skinned it and will sell it with his other furs. Some day when I have space I know he can put me on to another one.
