Couple of months ago my Suburban was hit while parked in front of my house.

Well I just picked it up and here is what it looks like now:

I had them use steel 1/8 diamond plate to fix the damage, they also welded a cooler platform on the back to carry water, added dog tie outs to leash the dogs to something, changed the tail lights out to LED, added tail light protectors and, put on a new front and rear bumper.

What do you think?

Next up will be to paint it with Rhino Lining...

Very nice. Who did the work? I've owned a couple of Suburbans. There's nothing like them. 'Wish Ford could meet that challenge, but they never have. I'm getting the Suburban itch again and I'd want some modifications to it.

You have never owned an Excursion then.

You're not kidding about the cheap part.

I see that one around Midland all the time. It's in that pearl white color. Not much of a hunting color, but it's pretty. If Ford would make one, with a 6.7, I would be hard pressed not to buy one.

My wife found one last year in fredricksberg 05 with 36k they wanted 38k for it, i thought they had caught mad cow disease. And wouldn't come down. She wanted it bad. Hindsight that's cheap compared to a conversion

Great job! The Suburban...I've owned two and a Tahoe. Texas Monthly proclaimed the Suburban the National Car of Texas several years ago.

I let a 2006 4x4 suburban go at the auction the other day for $3000. I'm kicking myself.

I have a 04 Z71 with 270K miles on it sitting in my driveway. Got mad when they only offered me $1,500 for it on my new one. I was going to buy me a UTV but have decided to make a hunting rig out of my old suburban. Not sure yet if that's the right decision but you can do a lot to a truck for what a UTV cost.
Any thoughts from you guys on my decision?

Lots of guys on here swear by a UTV, but I've never owned one. I think a road-legal vehicle, that is already enclosed, has heat if you feel like being a wuss some morning, and you can take a nap in comfortably is a helluva lot more useful than a UTV. I use a Jeep hunting, but I've owned a couple of Suburbans and I wish I had one now.

I'm Hunting out of a '99 k-1500 Suburban with high rack mounted on top. TxVarminter on the forum is building one also. Love it! Magnetic mounted spotlights under gun rests. Tall and stable. Plus..... Heat & A/C. Plenty of room for gear. Love my Burb!

I love the bumpers. A SUV is the way to go because then you can just drive it on home. and an old jeep is cheaper than a new Ranger
