I finally seen some deer again. 6 doe and a small buck all eating together in the wheat. My camera batteries got zapped by the cold, so not sure if the mature bucks are grouped back up. I'm ready for them to start worrying about eating instead of doe.

Any recent reports?? Father n law said he seen a nice buck chase a couple doe across the food plot on Wednesday or Thursday this week, can't remember which. Other than that and a few pigs, nothing else seen during daylight. I'm gonna sit on the food plot this afternoon and see what happens.

I've been seeing lots of doe.. Just a few small bucks. I got some nice spikes I'd like to shoot but they haven't showed in the daylight. Really doubt I get a mature buck this year but I'm not giving up till the last hunt if the season.

All doe running together and the bucks are in groups too. Dad had 4 bucks in a feeder last night for 45 minutes eating. He shot a nasty 3 yo 5 point that needed to go. As far as rutting goes I think that ship has sailed.

Seen 8 doe and a nice young 8 last night. One of the yearlings must be close or in heat, cause the doe kept running him off and he finally gave up and didn't come back. Going back to the same stand this afternoon.

I'll be back in a blind this afternoon, once the wind lays down. Wind chill at dark is supposed to be 13 degrees, so maybe the mature bucks will get out of bed a little earlier this afternoon.

Got in the blind a little early today. Might be a good eve to hunt if the wind chills out some. I hunted till 10 this morning and only saw a few doe and turkey.

I had 9 doe, 4 pt and a decent 8 come in about 20 min till dark yesterday eve. That 8 looked older to me but I let him walk. It would have to be pretty big for me to shoot in that cold we had yesterday. The buck selection this year has been pretty slim for me.

I'm in Runnels County. Got a buck opening day of rifle season and took two does this weekend. Will go back for the extended doe season to maybe get another doe.
