I didn't see anything again either, but father n law had 15 deer on wheat field. Didn't come out till right at dark. Said there was a good buck and a smaller buck out there and the rest were does. Bucks weren't chasing, just eating.

They are all over the wheat now. I had 8 come in at dark and by the time I got back to the house I saw 10 more in the other wheat field. Guess the cold snap has played hell on all the other food. Time to start hunting the wheat for me!

We have tried morning, evening and today middle of the day! Seen a couple nice one opening day but since then nothing! There are fresh tracks everywhere but we are seeing nothing! Anybody else have this problem and any advice would be great! Thanks they did this last year, they seemed to go nocturnal after Thanksgiving. They are still out there just at times when we can't hunt. I got so frustrated last year. That is why we took two within the first two weeks this year to have something in the freezer

This time last year we had a ton of acorn and still had green grass. I was thinking this year would be better but I haven't seen many mature bucks this year at all, camera either. My place is small and surrounding area is hunted hard it's more of a pass threw place but I've only had one shooter roll threw and he never gave me a shot. I have a bigger group of doe that shows up late every season and I just now starting seeing them this week. Seems a little early for them to start showing up so I'll keep my hopes up for an active end to the season.

Hunted Thursday thru Sunday and didn't see much at all. Decided that since I don't have a final until Monday, the wife and I are gonna drive up and hunt the rest of the week with the cold weather coming in. Just hope the roads aren't too bad to make it back for the test!

Other than cold, any predictions on how the weather is going to be in regards to snow and sleet?

They just issued a Winter Storm Warning. If you facebook, look up Steve McCauley. He used to be a weather man in the metroplex. Now teaches classes about meteorology. Has some GREAT INFO

I still haven't seen a deer since the sleet/ice arrived. They eat the corn at night, but no daylight sightings by anyone on our place. I thought the cold forced deer to feed during daylight......not our deer. Should thaw out some today with accuweather saying it will warm up to the low 40's today. This afternoon should be good.

we hunted yesterday morning. My breath was instantly freezing on the inside of my blind windows. The heater took the edge off since I insulated my blind with foam board. I won't be out again until mid week

After the hell I went threw trying to get out there yesterday eve I elected to stay home this morning. I don't mind helping people when they are stuck but these dumbars people in 2wd have no biz out there. Had two diff people wreck out on 280 and block me in. I eventually made it out and hunted for about 20 min and headed home. I have been seeing all kinds of deer every time I've been out since this ice hit. I may try it again this eve.
