The evening before opening day of rifle season I decided to give my bow one more chance before switching to the box blind. I am glad I did to cause I got my first buck that evening from my bow stand. I now know why everyone makes a big deal of bow hunting. It was a completely different expirience compared to being 100 yards out. [img:center] 
You may only get one shot, so make it count!!

Got my first buck ever last weekend in Fayette County, was a great experience! TPWD biologists scored it at 114 BC.  First Buck

little management buck, shot it after only 10 minutes of walking the woods behind my house. got the shot at 15 feet in the creek bed with my Marlin .35 Remington, the bullet left a 5 inch wide exit wound

what a great bunch of pictures! Way to go to all of you who got a deer! I was also very pleased to see all the kids that were getting their first deer! What a great way to spend time with your family and pass on a love and respect for the outdoors...

Have been hunting this management buck for the past month and a half. Had two other encounters with him, but could never make it work. Friday, it all worked out. Glad to get him out of the gene pool before the ruts gets in full swing up in the panhandle.

My son's first deer. He missed on his first shot, I never told him about buck fever. After he pulled the trigger, he said he knew he jerked the trigger. And he sounded like he was hyperventilating. The next night he controlled his breathing and made a good shot. He put the blood on his face himself, something he thought up.  That's awesome! One of my favorites so far.

my son got a nice spike opening weekend walking to the blind I got a nice 8 point buck the next weekend Saturday morning right when the sun came up we hunt brown county 10 minutes south of cross plains
