I am curious as to what you all prefer for a concealed carry gun. Im looking at 9mm due to the fact that I have a good amount already.

S&W Shield is first. Ruger LC9, Nano, XDS, P938. Those are all good choices. I'd stay away from Kahr.

The best carry gun is the one you don't leave home. A really good holster and belt combo can go a long way to help that. Everyone is shaped different so there is no universal best gun. I personally carried a Kahr K9 in a Sparks Heritage holster on a Sparks belt.

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

If you want a Shield, Palmetto State Armory has them for $359 right now.

I had a Kahr CM9 that I liked a lot. Sold it when I got my Springfield XDs 9mm. Wish I would have kept it had I known that they would have kept my pistol for recall so long!
Believe me or not but for the money I would get me another SCCY CPX2 9mm in a heartbeat! I loved mine but need something for trade bait on a rifle I just had to have. I will get another soon! Prices right now are between about $230-$275. Get on SlickGuns.com and look for the best price.

The one that fits your hand and you are comfortable with. This answer is going to be different for everyone. Also what holster(s) are you going to use needs to be well thought out.

Good Luck!

It's like asking someone what's your favorite beer? You're going to get every freakin' answer under the sun. And 9mm is one of the most popular calibers, so the options are endless.

A little insight into how you plan to carry it, pistol size, and other variables might help.

But a good carry pistol is one that you will carry.

Thanks guys. Im asking because i bought a 92fs on a friends recommendation only to find out its harder to conceal it than i imagined. Im looking at either a Springfield xd or a ruger rc9.

Two of my favorites. A classic S&W J frame in 38 and a Rohrbaugh 9mm.

I like the Kahr PM9. It's the smallest of all mentioned, except for the SCCY, and the P938.

edit and Rohrbaugh

tried a ton of them, most of the time it's a G19 IWB
if deeper concealment is needed it's a jframe 642

I had a Kahr CM9 and it wasn't reliable. Wanted an XDS but due to the recall couldn't get it. Now have an MP Shield and love it. Also have a ket tec 32 for times I can't carry the Shield.

What kind of problems were you having with the Kahr. The PM9 is on my want list.
