 My brother and I went on our first duck hunt ever this weekend and had a blast! Needless to say, I think I might be addicted and can't wait to go back out! I shot two woodies, a spoonie and a green-winged teal, and I'll chalk it up to beginner's luck, but one of the woodies was banded.  And it was almost as fun eating em as it was shooting em!

They band them to track migration. You can report the band # and find out where it was banded
Any creature in my vicinity that possesses an explosive penis is going to be killed.

Second duck I ever killed when I was about 8 years old was a banded blue wing! Congrats on the band!

Lucky man for sure, I can not tell you exactly how many ducks I have seen die over the last 23 years since I started duck hunting but given the logs me and my buddy keep it is somewhere around 9-10,000 and we have only have 6 bands to show for it if that tells you how rare that is.

Well congrats on the hunt. I hope you mounted that woodroe with the band. By mounted I meant take it to the taxidermist.

Congrats!! This is my second year and I love it.....my friend and hunting buddie has taught me many things and you can learn alot here on this fourum and on the internet. Don't forget that experience is the best teacher and you can't shoot ducks sitting on the couch at home!
