What did you guys see this morning? I didn't see a thing, but did catch 2 hogs in the trap. I'm West of Bradshaw a couple miles east of Hwy 277. One guy said he seen a young 6 but didn't come to a feeder. Walking back to camp, he was almost run over by a doe. Squatted down and seen a decent 8 following her. Rut shouldn't be too much longer.....

Didn't get a chance to hunt this morning, but last night I saw a spike chasing does on my wheat field, and a small 8 was chasing a doe last night when I checked my lease.

I killed a cull spike at 8:30 near Moro probly only a few miles from you.
didn't see much else. I might have passed on him but things were so bad last year especially later in the season, I wanted to get something in the freezer

you must be pretty close to me, I might br just a bit north depending. I'm at the north end of 194. Last year I had a good fawn crop, this year I only have 1 in my pics and should have had 6 to 8. Did you notice the fawns being low in number this year?

I saw a 2 yr old chasing a couple doe Sunday morning, but no signs of any mature bucks interested in the females yet. I typically see chasing start the second week of the season, but am hearing around Tuscola they are already chasing.....

I only had a 2 small herd of doe on my cameras all summer.
started with 3 fawns, 2 of them made it and are doing fine.

last year was poor. They went to feeding at night, if they fed at all. The acorns and wheat were drawing them away from corn.
this year, I have not seen a good acon crop

I took 2 days off and hunted Tuesday evening and yesterday morning and saw nothing. The front was a lot stronger that I thought it would be and I figure they were bedded down when the wind was so bad. I walked around yesterday before noon and saw limited sign of movement on my place.

I got a pretty nice young 8pt at the feeder. I'll give another 30-40 min before I head back to work. The birds are just now starting to chirp.

Had 8 doe out this morning at first light and 3 small bucks came in from different directions and split em like a cow dog. They ran em all around but two of them and one was a big doe with a fawn with faded spots. The rut here starts during bow season and I'll still see em run in jan. It peaks here opening weekend or the 2nd weekend the past 6 years. Hunting southwest of Tuscola.

That's the 5 1/2 year old I shot the other night...he's gone way down since last year but still good to get him. He was about to fight a 3 year old 10 over a doe. He was 100% in rut. Split brows was his name, now it's time to find the big 7 and that will be my two culls for the year. Here's the stupid 7

Is that a game cam on a hog trap? That old deer looks pretty healthy.
