Mallard hen

The bright orange feet and white border around the speculum give it away

Yall dont think thats just a late colored mallard drake? Its starting to get a little green on its head. Thats what all the ducks look like up north early in the year.

I don't think mexican mallards get a curl. With the green coming in I'm thinking, more than likely, an eclipse drake and, less likely, a hybrid.

I think you're right. I believe Mexican mallards are similar to mottled ducks in that the drakes don't have curls.

What gets me is the lack of dark on the beak. Everything else says mallard hen but the beak. Males are more prone to a solid color beak. So I say old hen.

Hermaphrodite Mallard Hen. Notice the Bill. The bill color never changes on a Hermaphrodite Mallard Hen from her regular color. On the the feathers change.
