 9 year old daughter got her first trophy

this is my daughter's first trophy she has taken. we sat in the blind saturday night looking for WT does or cull bucks and saw a bunch of blackbuck males and a couple young 8 pt WT bucks, but we didnt see any does or cull bucks that we could take. the next morning we saw a nice young 8 ptr and a couple young fallow bucks, but nothing to shoot at. she had seen a bunch of blackbuck males come in and i wouldnt let her shoot them since they were all too young and none had 3 curls yet. but then, this guy rolled in and met all the criteria i had just explained to her, so we decided this could be her trophy if she was able to get a good shot and kill it. she made a 115 yd heart/shoulder shot and it dropped in its tracks. she was so excited afterward and talked about it for the rest of the day. when we took it to the processor, you should have seen her chest swell up with pride while telling all the old men about her successful hunt that morning. it was pretty funny to watch her interact with them while we waited in line. since it was opening weekend, there were 15 people in line and she milked the attention as much as she could...  he was 100 lbs live weight and i measured his horns at 18.5" straight tape with 5.5" bases, but i am not too experienced with measuring blackbuck, so i wouldnt call that official.   she has hunted for 2 years now and until now she has only taken 2 does and a cull buck. i have made her pass up several nice whitetail bucks as well as a few exotics because she had not put in her dues as a hunter yet. she probably still hasn't but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up with her. very proud of her and happy that i got to share in that memory with her

Congrats to your daughter on a fine looking Blackbuck! Beautiful photos and I'm sure it will make a great looking mount!!! Nothing beats hunting with your kids.
