It was like nothing Ive experienced before. Went down to my stand. Noticed mosquitos already getting on me on the walk down, then they swarmed. I probably had a thousand mosquitos on me. Even as I was walking. If I stood still for just a second, they coated me. And they were all Very BIG and BLACK! I felt like screaming and running. Turned around and walked back to the house. I will be sure to take my thermacell from now on, but the way they swarmed, I would be suprised if it helps very much.

I've killed more Mosquitos in the past 3 days sitting in my stand than everyone one here put together has killed critters! Think I have them bout whooped for now

Same here! It was bad and they were thick. I was outside right after dark and could feel them all over my legs (wearing shorts) went inside the camper and my daughter says daddy why are your legs black full of blood from where I was shoing them away. Worst I've ever experienced x100.

They are terrible, I've never seen Anything like it either.

It was unbelievable sat morning. I had deer all around me and I was slowly showing them away in the ground blind. Dang blind was full of them. Used thermacel that evening and actually saw Mosquitos flying out of the blind from the gun port in the mesh! Hahaha. Those things are great

I was in port Isabel Sunday when I got attacked. I actually had to run to get away from them because they kept following me.

They're even bad here out west. Had to buy the parents a thermacell lantern because my personal thermacell kept getting stolen by them.

I'm tagged out on all species of mosquitos. Hopefully the game warden doesn't give me a ticket...

I'm not big on most gimmicks BUT, thermocells work very well for me and while not 100%, its close enough to be tolerable! If you don't have one, get one!

IMO the mosquitoes have been really bad this year because of the rain! We have had a lot more rain this year causing for more standing water and more breeding grounds! And they wonder why mosquitos are so bad in the city when you look from your back yard and into your neighbors and you see a stained brown/green pool and you can see 1,000 plus in 5 minutes! We personally comfronted them and told them to clean it! It is getting really bad in Dallas as well as the country! And dang Nav you sure your not allergic?

I got into those very same ones at my lease last weekend. While on the ground, they cover your arms and clothing almost instantly. It was difficult to even breathe without inhaling them. I have never in my life seen so many at one time. Next trip out there, I covered my body with repellant and they would come to me but wouldn't land on me. I hope they are gone before I go back but with the rain on and off and standing water spots I doubt they will be gone anytime soon.

Same here on opening day I bailed as soon as I could see to walk out of there if it was real season aka gun season I'd suffer through it but not for a bow hunt.

I've never used a ThermaCell before so I just looked them up on Academy's website. There seems to be a lot of different types. What is the best set up for ThermaCells? What should I buy?

I recommend the thermacell. I have one and can say without a doubt they work. The one I have I picked up at Walmart. Simple to operate with a simple turn of the dial and push of a button. A single refill will last for several morning/evening hunts. I shot a deer last year about 45 yards away with it going.
