Got to play with the Cabelas instigator bow some yesterday. Made by bowtech looks like parts of 3 bows put together to make one. riser is alot like a diamond core limbs from the infinite edge and cam from the diamond black ice. The combination makes for a nice looking bow that is smooth on the draw and quite shooting with very little vibration.

If i remember correctly
draw legnth 23 - 29 inches
draw weight 30 - 65 lbs
weight 3.2 lbs
iBO 300fps

not the fastest but it does have a good feel to it when shooting

how much are they asking for them? I've heard a couple people talking about them, and the consensus is that they are decent

Anyone else had a chance to look at this?

Here's the info copy/paste from Cabela's site.
"The Cabela’s Instigator Package by BOWTECH is an excellent choice for today’s small-framed archer. Crafted for amateur and novice bowhunters, the Instigator is adjustable from 23" to 29" for a custom fit. Draw weight is 30 to 65 lbs., allowing archers to work their way up at their speed and comfort level. In-the-field adjustments are simple, requiring only an Allen wrench to accommodate an entire family of archers. Invest in a bow that can be enjoyed for years to come. Offered in both right- and left-hand models. With features and benefits like this, it's obvious the Cabela's Instigator by BOWTECH will ensure success for generations to come.
Camo pattern: Realtree APG™.

Cabela's Instigator Bow Package By BOWTECH includes: bow, Apex three-pin sight, Hostage XL rest, Dead-Lock Lite Octane quiver, wrist sling, alloy peep, 5" Octane Hunter stabilizer and string loop.

Sends arrows flying at 300 fps
Adjustable from 23" to 29"
Draw weight is 30 to 65 lbs
Offered in both right- and left-handed models"

I've got pretty much no experience in archery. I used to shoot a cousins youth bow when I was younger but that was many moons ago. Does this look like something that would be good for a beginner? Just saw it while browsing their site and figured I would see what little information there is about it.

And just a general question, but do a lot of places typically put their archery equipment on sale after deer season or no?

Yes it would work, but there are better choices out there since that one is set up for smaller people, ie women and children.

I was surprised when I saw it. I have not shot one but it looks like a lower end diamond. probably shoots well but I think there would be better choices in the same price range.

Thanks guys. I'll probably move on and look at a few other bows. Think I'll keep looking at some of the Hoyts and Missions I've been reading about.
