Oh, like Ted Nugent and Bob Beck? Just because you break the law doesn't negate that you are a hunter.

I've found a couple of convenient holes cut in the fence on the southwest side, seems there always a feeder within 50 to 60 yards. After the last big rains one of the ranches about 4 miles nth of us lost a couple of water gaps and had several exotics get out. With a little luck they'll see the mountains and head our way. He lost a bunch of aoudad and few axis and blackbuck.

Oh boy......here we go. HF Haters gonna hate and no, he is not saying HUNTERS cannot be criminals, he is differentiating that if your a CRIMINAL that you no longer fall into the Category as a HUNTER. A True Hunter is a Law Abiding citizen with respect and reverence for the outdoors. A HUNTING CRIMINAL is a Douche Bag that breaks all the laws of hunting and the outdoors with no respect to that way of life. Ted and Bob, really have nothing to do with this thread. It is a cheap under handed thing to do....not to mention ILLEGAL as Hell to cut fences, especially in TEXAS.

In south Texas near the boarder HF are cut all the time by illeagals passing through. Some ranchers have to drive and fix the fence on a daily bases. The cutting has nothing to do with the animals.

Six holes cut in a fence in Harper (not on the boarder) does not sound illegals (unless it is an invasion). Cut top to bottom and tied back, all in one night, I would even doubt that it is poachers. This sounds like a statement made by radicals.

My guess would be (in order) PETA types, someone mad at the landowner, someone mad about high fences in general, or just plain ol' vandals.

I was just making the point that fences are cut for a number of reasons, not always poaching.

Yeah and I shouldn't post after the second out third bottle of wine if it takes three people to explain my post...my point as has been explained was that we shouldn't credit people that break the law with being Hunters, they are just criminals. I don't care if they are celebrities or the guy down the street. No I'm not talking about someone that makes a mistake, these guys are acting with criminal intent.

Heck, by cutting that fence they probably let more animals INTO than OUT OF that place. If I was the owner I'd put a public "Thank you to whoever did this! Those inferior deer might have lived long happy lives on the outside, but since we're MLD, we'll sell a few more cull hunts and they'll be smoked this season" in the paper.

My understanding of the High Fence premiss is to keep inferior deer out. The last thing a real game managed ranch wants is a cull deer breeding with its managed deer hammer

It amazes me how people put the high fences up and expect it to be accepted as the norm.. Deer have never had boundaries until man came along to make a dollar..... Can you argue that? Im not trying to be rude here. It's just a fact.
