FYI

The Little Putt Cafe in Putnam is history. Building is vacant. Thought it might be something you would be interested in when deer season gets here.

I noticed that yesterday. Ain't much left in Putnam. The Filling Station was open but I think maybe just for hunting season.

They did better downtown. Not many businesses make it around here. I can count dozens in 20 years that are long gone.

Red Barn Liquor is still open. Buzzards circling most of the other buildings. I got out of there years ago when my landlord put our building up for sale. Last thing I wanted was to own property in beautiful downtown Putnam. Same for Cisco.

Cisco may soon be changing for the better with the new oil companies building those massive buildings.

Yeah. We got the BBQ from them many times. Was a little dissapointed in the cafe, but the burgers were pretty good. Any chance in him reopening the BBQ stand?

Don't know what happened but when it moved from the BBQ stand to the building on the interstate, it became a disaster.

Wilks companies are putting up huge offices, state of the art fabrication shops and a recording studio. Burgess is closing which has been a fixture here for a long time. Booz (alcohol sales) and Billionaires (the Wilks brothers) may save Cisco.....and our tax increase this year.

Were you on 206 about half way down to Cross Plains? On the left if headed south.

Haven't paid much attention to it but I bet you are talking about the big construction project a few blocks north of the Interstate on the west side of Conrad Hilton Avenue. Apparently one of the Wilks kids is big into music and that is his new recording studio! Supposed to be something like the 5th largest in the US.

Supposedly, he will be catering to BIG NAME artists looking for a low key place to do their work, outside of the normal hustle and bustle. Sounds like a good idea but I'm wondering how long things would remain "low key" if the word got out that Reba was in town or Prince dropped in to cut a new version of Purple Rain. Have no idea which artists he is selling the idea to. I just picked a couple of names out of the blue. Hope it works out because it would great to have something like that in the area since downtown Cisco is becoming a ghost town. I am also curious as to where these folks will be staying. Probably will not be dining at the Dairy Queen but I am sure the developers have a plan for all these things. Look forward to seeing it work out.

That was supposed to be the site of their new airport that the Wilks family is sponsoring but it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Maybe November has more info?

Here's the skinny from the nursing community:

The new building in town is a recording studio. The Wilks' brothers have a daughter each who sing. I'm sure they will have "big" names come in. Supposed to be 5th biggest in the nation. Word is they will put in a sporting goods store near it or north of the studio.

The big building out on the interstate is part of the airport, hair care and tire center.....it really is part of the airport. It will also be a large conference center for Wilks clients.

I think they are also trying to put in a Stripes and either a Chilie's or Applebee's out by exit 330.

Anyone know a hairdresser or manicurist in Cisco? I guarantee they'll know what's going on.
