I got this water tank that had a crack in the bottom for pretty cheap and made a bow blind out of it.

Looks like you have it under the tree enough that the sun won't cook you in it.

Turned out pretty good, I'm excited to hunt it. Yes I tried to get it in the shade so it won't be as hot. I still won't hunt it on an October afternoon. Sure will be nice in December though.

Wht. Great idea! What are the dimensions? What did you have to give for it if you don't mind me asking

It's 89" tall and 85" wall to wall inside. It's set up for standing shots and fits 2-3 hunters comfortably. I cut out the floor and put carpet down to reduce noise. It has a bow hanger and a push button led light at the top inside. The windows close and are painted flat black to resemble being open. I paid 300 for it. The normal retail is 1200-1400.

Outstanding!! Kudos for a great find and great idea. Glue some thin carpet inside on the walls.

Jack Brittingham had some bow blinds made out of those. If you open the windows early in the midday and let the air circulate they are not that hot. You can buy you a battery powered fan to run also. You can wear shorts when it is hot also. With the floor removed it will condensate and sweat inside if you do not have a vent up high to let the heat and moisture escape.

OK that is a pretty darn good idea. Now I'm going to have to start looking for one of those. Where did you find the water tank at? Classifieds or at some store?

Are the windows in the blind low enough? Or do you plan on standing up for the shot? They just looked like they were placed high to me.

Maybe even staple some shoot-through mesh on the inside of the window openings? Would help keep the mosquitos out, probably birds too.
