Hey folks,

I'm looking in to buying a pump shotgun for this upcoming duck season. I've already got a wood grain semi-auto that I don't want to subject to that kind of wear and tear. I've narrowed my choices down to the Mossberg Maverick 88 and the Winchester SXP. Both are well priced and seem to perform well. Just wondering if there were any owners out there with experience that cared to chime in.

SXP hands down. Invest that extra money for it.

Never shot the sxp but own a 88. I bought the gun so when I hunt public land and doing all the walking I don't scratch my Benelli. For the money it's a solid gun and pretty light . My gun has been threw abuse u wouldn't believe still performs well my .2 cents

Mossberg 88 under 200 bucks, so you know when you buy its a beater anyway and your not worried about using it, and it reliable.
