Very nice kmon. I've been seeing better deer now compared to the late 80s when we got our ranch. Are you north or south of 20?
If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

Like BIL said South of 20, Tye I think our laces are not really that far apart, I am southeast of Cisco and aren't you southwest? At the risk of making some mad, I think ARs have really helped hunting in the area I hunt at least, by forcing some to not shoot the younger bucks we have more reaching age where they can show what the can grow.

There are some big deer in that area. Hunted North of 20 NW of Cisco for years. I hunted over by Moran for years and never saw any big bodied deer. Average only on a good day.

great deer... they have to be an athlete to jump that tall feeder fence. same thoughts here. we always cut a few rows off the top. good luck with him! I cut three feet off the top two rows on a couple or three cattle panels for easier access to my protein. Too low and there will always be a Brahma cow that will try to test it. Eventually, the fawns will learn the trick and get to the feed. It is amazing what they can jump.

I have an 8 foot chain link fence at my house and the deer can jump it if they want. You would be amazed at how high they can jump.
