Heres a 3.5 to 4.5 jump for you   Just curious...what makes you think they are the same buck? Same place, same feeder, same eating schedule, same 8 point always with him even the next year as well... frame says it all though. and I lived/worked on this ranch and my main job focus was the deer hunting/management Look at his brow tines as well.

I also have pics of a buck over just two years, also with a torn ear. Love his dark face (rarely see any others with similar coloring). It's great seeing the antler development year to year August 2012  August 2013

5.5 yrs old really rutted down post rut  6.5 yrs old rut  7.5 yrs old 180 gross pre-rut 204 lbs dressed weight.

4.5 yr old 5.5 yr old upper 180's gross 208 lbs dressed weight pre-rut. Shot as a cull...oops. That deer needed to be culled for his frame. Now the shovels would have made him a candidate in a breeding pen full of caribou He was kept at 4.5 yrs old due to not knowing what he was the year before. Also was not 100% sure if that was a skull/pedicle injury or a velvet antler injury. But yeah he was a cull, even with a 189" gross NT score.
