I bought a old round hog galvanized feeder 5'X53" now how to turn it into a wildlife feeder???? any ideas would be appreciated

If you want to feed all of the time and not have a timer set up it would work as it now sits. Just fill it up and when they find it they will use it. The problem is that it can emptied at will, with a timer unit the amount and the times it feeds can be set. This way, the animals can clean you out of feed as there is no stopping the flow of feed.

To make it a timer type of feeder will take a lot of work, the bottom will have to be replaced with a full bottom and then a feeder timer motor unit installed.

That would be one big timer feeder so you think using it as a protein feeder is a bad ideal?

If you used a timer, you would need legs or a stand under it, then close the bottom off and mount a regular timer. It looks like you could use it as is for a protein feeder.

as is you don't think bucks would have a hard time eating from it?
