How many of you out there that are still pulling 70+ lbs on your bow? I am seeing a lot more bow hunters coming out with 60 lb draw weight bows lately and a few of them are younger in there late 20's to mid 30's. I'm still pulling 70 lb but I'm thinking about going down to a 60 lb draw weight on the next bow I get just so I can enjoy shooting longer. It's all personal preference really and I don't think it's making that much of a difference with today's technology on compound bows with the speed and efficiency they have. No sense in hurting my shoulder. It doesn't hurt or bother me now, but I have run across a few hunters that have that problem.

50-60 lb bow does same or better speed and KE as most 70-80lb bows 15 years ago

I'm still doing 70, but I'm starting to feel it with my age, might have to drop down before to long.

Kind of what I figured. I'm seeing a more and more shooting the 60# range bows these days.

I pull 70 and I'm 52 years old. I'll keep pulling it until it starts to bother me. So far no problems.

Thats great! My reasoning is I don't get out that often to shoot, so I want something a little easier draw to shoot when I do practice and enjoy it more. My kids are starting to pick it up more often so I am doing it about twice a week now at least. I'm usually too tired at the end of the day to want to go out and shoot the bow.

I'm at 60 now but my bow is 70. I'm debating whether to bump it up as the shoulder strengthens or buy some 60lb limbs for it.

Do y'all use a scale to actually measure your draw weight? I shoot a 70 pound bow backed down until I can draw and hold it comfortably. I can draw 70 without trouble bit it is shaky if I have to hold for more than 10 seconds. I'm guessing it's around 61 or 62.

I use to think it was great to pull back 70#..I moved it down to 65 and at 25 yrds still shot the same...Plus more fun to shoot for 30 minutes...On cold mornings it amazing the difference in pulling back 70 and 65....

I pull 72#

I have a real short draw length which greatly reduces speed so I have to up the poundage.

Pulling that weight has never bothered me so I never felt a need to drop it down

Mine's 26.5" which is the only reason the extra 10lbs draw is appealing to me.
