Morning,

I was wondering if anyone might have some load data that they like to share. I am going to start loading 22-250 and looking for general info on powder, bullets, primers.

I believe I already have some Sierra Gameking 55 gr BTHP that I bought years ago.

I shoot a Reminghton 700 heavy barrel with a HS Precision stock

Thank you

I load 52 gr Hornady HPBT's over 38.7 grns of H380.

Little on the lite side but they are hyper accurate out of a savage 112 BVS bull barrel...

My Savage 16 shoots 5 shots at .35" with 36.0 grains of Varget and a 52 grain Berger HPFB.

I load for my 220 Swift, which is similar, and it's hard to beat IMR 4064. I'd start with that powder or Reloader 15. Try ColemanCty's load (work up to it).

My rifle is a 700 SPS Varmint in a HS stock similar to your setup and I run 35.5gr Varget and 53gr SMK. It shoots in the .9"s at 200yds. Good luck.

55 gr Sierra Game King, 36.5 gr of H-Varget, makes 3780 fps.

Lot's of 1/2 to 3/4 groups with 4064 and H380. I like to load H380 it measure so good.
Best all time load 55 gr Nosler Ballistic tip, 34.1 gr 4064, Rem large rifle primer,

Good results with (3/8 to 3/4 5 shot groups)
53 gr Sierra MK and 36.5 gr H380
52 gr Sierra HP boattail, 36 gr H380
55 gr Sierra spire point, 35.4 gr H380
55 gr Remington spire point, 35.4 gr H380,

Yep, go with 4064. My Swift loves it, but being a bigger case and shooting the bullet so much faster than the puny little 22-250 requires about 38.5 grains for me. :-)

I shoot this same load but substitute the Sierra with a Nosler BT.

I had excellent luck with 52 gr Sierra Mk's, and Reloader 10x in my 22-250. If you have the twist for it, go heavier. Seems to me that the 700's were all 1:14's though, which means the 52/53 gr bullets are your friend. smile
