How much are you looking to spend, range ? Zero to $100, $100-$200, Up to $400 ???? Up to $1,000 ?

Off the cuff, take a look at these, then give us your answers to above. I have given you a low and mid, certainly can spend alot more. Also, consider that if you plan to take it ever on a guided trip, spend more. Dont take a guided trip and take along cheap binos or spotting scope. If all you are going to do is take it up in a deer stand and leave them there, consider spending less or what your budget allows.

I have looked at both of these and both are extremely clear:
* Leupold Compact 10-20X 40mm, only 7.5 inches long $349.99 at Cabelas
* Burris High Country 20-60X, 60mm $179.99

I use the Leupold 15-35x Gold Ring spotting scope and it does pretty well. When your close to your max power on a warm or hot day you can pick up a few waves. But normally I back it down to about 30X or so and it works great. I use it to view exotics from my hunting lodge.
