anybody know anything about this? the link appears to be disables here and on the Easton website. Link worked for me, here is the gist of it. The reason for this recall:
In a recent quality inspection, Easton discovered a blemish in the arrow surface that has a limited chance of affecting the structural integrity of affected AXIS arrow shafts. The arrows can break when fired and hit unintended targets, including the user and bystanders. This recall effects only a small percentage of four specific batch numbers from four sizes of AXIS arrows and arrow shafts.
If the consumer fails to heed Easton’s warning and instruction to inspect and flex test the shaft prior to each shot, and in certain specific locations and orientations relative to the bow, there is a very limited possibility that the region of the discontinuity or blemish might not withstand the loads and deflections of launch from the bow. If this were to occur, the arrow could fail upon launch and injure the archer or other persons in the vicinity.
The affected products shipped between February 21 and May 10, 2013 as follows:
Size 300 340 400 500 Batch Number 13169686 13170143 13170142 13169487

Thanks for the info. I shoot Easton Axis but I'm almost positive I bought them before February 21. I'll check the number in the morning when I can get to my bow. Definitely something worth checking. Thanks again!

Any recall on Zebra Strings? I had my new Zebras snap Friday It's a Zebra they are light strings; one reason Mathews puts them on their bows to get the IBO speed up. The first thing I do with a brand new bow is toss the factory strings in the trash!

I have to be honest. Each time I shoot a carbon arrow I worry about it exploding in my hand after seeing pics on the web. I still shoot them though.

Some Diamond Infinite Edge Pro bows were shipped with strings and cables that are an inch too long, these bows will not turn to full poundage.

Ten Point and Wicked Ridge crossbows
Some models have a safety issue that has been voluntarily recalled. You can go to their website for instructions to test your bow and also a list of serial #s affected.

Omni nocks . Learned the hard way. Bought a ten point crossbow used. It was a couple of years old. It came with some bolts that had Omni nocks . Shot it about 6 times and on the 6th shot the string jumped the nock. The arrow went about 20 feet and the string exploded . After taking it to a professional bow shop he explained that the Omni nocks had been discontinued. He said this was not the first time he had seen this problem. Got it restrung and now shooting alpha nocks . No problems yet.
