The bonds are heavy, the guy at the gunshow said they kick bad

So it kicks? Well I rather not have anything that will knock me off my game. My biggest worry was snakes BUT then again lately I didnt need a gun to kill my biggest rattler so..well besides having my rifle or shotgun Im good, I carry a good sturdy knife...will do the job nicely anyways.....

I used to carry a 9mm but I prefer a single action over others.

I for one am glad I had my .45 colt with me this weekend as I usually do, me and a friend were trying to sneak up on some hogs and I was keeping an eye out for snakes, but I still stepped on one anyway. my buddy said I jumped very high. I was so rattled (pardon the pun) that I didnt even rotate my cylinder to the CCI ratshot and let it have with a dose of Buffalo Bore. using a scoped rifle I couldnt have seen the snake thru it, but a good pattern of ratshot did the trick with the second shot. Yep, sidearms do make common sense especially on warm days.

I don't worry about too much locally, but I'd either take my colt .45 or my wifes .357 if I was hunting in bear country, or beer country.

S&W M&P or Custom Norinco 1911. A wounded hog is MUCH faster than I am with a bow and where I hunt them, a bow is all I can hunt them with.
