I have a lease on the Polk/Tyler county line and we generally see quite a few every year.I went to high school with a girl that was bitten by one. Needless to say she spent serveral days in the hospital. I personally would much rather come across a timber rattler then I would a cotton mouth those things are mean.
I want it to party in my mouth.

I blocked traffic in both lanes to get it out of the road safely. You stopped traffic on a major highway/road for a damn snake? Yeah, I did. I'd do it again for the right snake. The snake that I got out of the road was "in the middle of nowhere" and was an absolute giant. It did not deserve to die on the highway. I'm no tree hugger by no means. I am, like many hunters and fishers, a conservationist. I see beauty in lots of things, some of those things being Timber Rattlesnakes and box turtles. Those animals will cause me to get out of the truck and help the get out of the road. WTF? You risked causing a major accident for a damn snake. You and the snake should be shot. A human life is far more valuable than a damn snake. He azz need to learn the consequences of wondering away from home.

LOL Bet it turned around and went right back on the road once you quit pestering it and drove off. Probably seeking the heat from the pavement.

I do my part in thinning the herd around here. They might need protecting somewhere but in the sulphur/white oak bottoms they are dong too well.

Can't see the pics. Yesterday one of my Wife's friends said she was getting eggs from the henhouse and caught a 74" Chicken Snake. About 7' is as big a one as I've personally seen but I imagine they get bigger.
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent.
