I feel the gun legislation debate has put the real freedom grabbing debate on the back burner... So with a new season past, has anyone changed their mind on the issue and decided that AR encroaches on a landowner's right to choose?

That's the spirit...with all the personal freedom given to 15yos now, I would think the gov could give the people the right to choose their buck of choice.

Btw, have you planted yet to keep that buck put past Sept?grin

I'm for letting folks shoot and getting them off the bucks so the woods cam calm down.

If I've said it once, I've said it twice...you could plant now and that buck is still going to leave...bolt

The fly in your ointment is that they are not the land owners deer. They are property of the state of Texas so your assertion has no validity.

Would have been better if it was a trackloader to follow you around than a golden shovel with all your bs

If the State says my neighbor can put them in HF jail all for himself then I'm sure they think ARs are just hunky-dory.

See what I did there? grin

Doesn't matter if it is your land, the public owns the wildlife, and it's regulated by the state. If you want it changed, get a lot of people to write letters to people in control.

I love these threads about Ar's. They get people talking or maybe arguing over OUR wildlife. I can honestly say that I think in OUR area, AR's have helped a lot of bucks survive that would have normally been shot. We have more, and better deer than we have had in 14 years of owning "OUR" place in Erath county.

You failed to capitalize that last "our" there.

As far as writing letters, what good does it do to write a letter to a place that is underfunded and can't manage what they had pre-AR?
