If I put on a Duck Expo in the DFW area between the first and second split who would come?
I am thinking of a: Duck Calling Contest Carved Decoy Contest Taxidermy Contest
Would you come as a vendor, contestant, or visitor?
Please let me know...

Only if you can get mountainman performing as live auctioneer (could be a long nite) and you might as well throw in slemp on the dunk tank.

Ok, it looks like I can do it on Sun Dec 1 at the Grapevine Embassy Suites near the Bass Pro.
Sounds like I have some interest, so it looks like I might do this.
Also, what would be a reasonable prize for Duck Call Contest Winners?
Please more feedback would be great...
Also, any of you ProStaff guys that have contacts with Decoy Manufactures or Call Manufactures or Guys that are outfitters, if you can PM and tell me what you think a booth would be worth to you that would be great.
BTW, I am doing this for Hunt with our Heroes so any help would be great.

I'd go if it were closer to me. I hate going to most hunting shows because 95% of the booths have something to do with deer hunting. I mean, how many feeder types do you really need to kill a deer?

I'd check the proposed seasons. The split is supposed to be a bit later this year.
I might put one of my pathetic decoys up as a contestant.
However, I may go goose hunti at BPO the weekend of the split. I really missed going goose hunting last year.
Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.

The idea is to do this Expo during the Split that is why I choose Dec 1... Nathan, If TPWD goes with what is proposed, Duck season will still be ongoing all zones on the Dec 1st. TPWD normally does go with what is proposed, but the commission still could implement something different after the public comment periods. They put these dates out there really early this year, so who knows if that is what we really end up with. ------------------- (B) North Zone: (i) all species other than "dusky ducks": November 2 – December 8, 2013 and December 21, 2013 — January 26, 2014 [ November 3 – 25, 2012 and December 8, 2012 — January 27, 2013]. (ii) "dusky ducks": November 7 – December 8, 2013 and December 21, 2013 — January 26, 2014[ November 8 — 25, 2012 and December 8, 2012 — January 27, 2013]. (C) South Zone: (i) all species other than "dusky ducks": November 2 – December 1, 2013 and December 14, 2013 — January 26, 2014[ November 3 – 25, 2012 and December 8, 2012 — January 27, 2013]. (ii) "dusky ducks": November 7 – December 1, 2013 and December 14, 2013 — January 26, 2014[ November 8 — 25, 2012 and December 8, 2012 — January 27, 2013].

Its 1 day of season and if its for the cause of assisting my brothers in arms than by golly I can miss one day of duck hunting. Everyone of you needs to realize if it wasn't for the soldiers and first responders yalls lives and such would be very different ... probably not in a good way. To my knowledge Nathan is the only one I know with this kind of a program that does anything like this so think of the sacrifices that these veterans and first responders have made and continue to make and sacrifice one measly day of duck season and come show some support. Shoot even if you don't believe in the cause come compete or look at duck hunting stuff. Thanks again Nathan for even thinking about creating a program like this.
OMG, this is the best slumber party ever!

i would be interested in a booth for my calls and knives may also be able to get some of my pro staff guides to get a booth set up there as well. i would like the timing because people are motivated about duck hunting and are more willing to buy products when its that time of year. that is the problem some run into with ducks unlimited banquets durring the off season.

If you do a duck calling contest please have three rounds. Thanks. Would that be during duck season?
