Beautiful snake, well when his guts are on the inside. I tried to swerve and miss him so I could get some pics but I guess I was driving a little too fast. I hit this guy while driving to my turkey spot today. Turned around to get a better look. You're gonna have to do better than that. You really turned around for another run at it 'cause you thought you might have missed the first time!

They use the green tip to wiggle to attact prey. Green tip mostly in juveniles up to 4 years of age. I did not know that either, very interesting.

Are they found near water or can they be just about anywhere? They can be anywhere, water or not. They get enough moisture from the rodents they eat. Sappertitan, be careful when you're Turkey hunting. Especially early mornings in the dark. Beautiful-good snake!
