I shot exactly 32 shells what's my name what's my name what's my name what's my name

Shooting a 12 gauge auto with IC choke.

Opening day. 45 shells for 15 birds. 4:00 to 5:30.

Next morning, same field. Abt 70 shells for 15 birds. 7:00 to 9:30. Had plenty of 3 shots and out. Gotta love those.

I was a little tired and the sun in the face doesn't help.

I found when I shot and dropped the bird on the first shot, I was not thinking, just shouldering the gun. When I missed, I was trying to track and shoot. I never practice until opening day so I can't say much but that is what I found.

I shot up a case and only killed time............No place to hunt, so i drank beer all day.

Haven't fired a shot yet this season, the best I ever did, and this was many years back, was 25 birds for 50 shots.

I honestly havent counted...I take 3 boxes every hunt and never came close to running out. Last night I got 4 and shot less than a box but don't know how many. It's not really a big focus for me....if I wanted to go for fewest shots per bird I'd probably not be shooting as much...but I'd also bag fewer birds in the end.

When it comes to shotgun shooting skills I'm pretty confident that I can shoot just as good if not better than most of the people on this forum. With that said I know very well the limits of my ammo, shooting skills, etc...there are some shots I've taken this year that are not high % shots and I knew it when I took them...I ended up taking some birds on some of those shots. If I really wanted to save ammo and work on my birds/shells shot stats I would not take some shots. That said comparing the shots I take to the guys I hunt with I'm much more selective. My point is shots per bird bagged isnt everything to me...in the end its about fun and if people want to take some extra shots and they have fun doing it then so what.

Shells are expensive but I have way more than I'll shoot this season and next season...I won a bunch for winning a skeet shoot tournament too. So for me counting shells and thinking about how much they cost each shot isnt something I like to focus on when I'm having a good time in the field.

Keep in mind I'm not wasteful either and agree with what you are saying...all I'm saying is it's not my main focus.

Alot of factors contribute to the overall hunting success when it comes to wingshooting; besides having fun, the main one should be your shotgunning skills, learning your gun, knowing its limitations, and learning how to shoot it.
If I had to shoot 100 shells to get a limit of doves, I would think I had some serious work to do in the "learning how to shoot" department among other things. Part of being a good hunter is being proficient with your firearm.

The average is around 3 or 4 dove per box of shells...I read that somewhere. It's good to see that everyone on here is way above average. I'm sure no one is telling any fishermen stories either, lol.
