Ok I will go first.
Simmons!! Had a Simmons 8 Point scope on a Ruger 10/22. Didnt even last 10 rounds before the crosshairs started rotating with every shot.

Have been given several low end Bushnell scopes and ended up trashing all of them.

Low end models of Barska, BSA, Simmons, and Tasco for me. A compact 4x BSA is one the worst scopes I have every seen. My daughter's toy binoculars have better optics...
I think someone's signature line on the forum is, "Friends don't let friends have Barskas."
It cracks me up every time I see it.

Can't speak for any of the other brands though since I don't own any of them. I have newer Swaro, Zeiss, Cables Alaskan Guide series along with older Redfield and Leupolds that are all great scopes. Some of the newer Leupolds are bad from what I have seen.

While I have several of the Konus top-of-the-line (for them) M30 scopes and a spotter, I've also got a low end LER pistol scope with glass that looks like it came from the bottom of a Coke bottle. What a stinker.

I had a TruGlo fixed 2x red dot that was impossible to see anything through it..it just had horrible clarity ....i gave it to a friend and he was sooo giddy about his new " gift ".....he mounted it on some lever action he wanted to try out on some feral hogs...about 3 months later i ran into him again and i asked him how the " gift " was holding up....he just sneered and told me some other friend of his was now the proud owner of that red dot...he had "regifted " that scope. I had warned him prior that it was junk but i guess it looked to tacticool to turn down, besides, it was free.

A lot of barskas, tascos, low end bushnells, utg, and most BSA scopes.

Simmons, low end Bushnell, anything that comes in the Remington package deals, Tasco X's 2 Remington package scopes are probably the worst I've ever tried to use. Had a buddy ask me to sight in his 710. I couldn't ever get it to stay zeroed more than 3 shots. Glass was about as clear as frosted shower glass.....maybe not quite that bad, more like a Mason jar. Burris FF II is the cheapest scope that I'll use these days. Holds zero and glass is adequate.

BSA,I bought a catseye illuminated redicle scope. I shot the gun one time to sight in.Put it in safe. 2yrs later when I got it out, it literally fell apart. The plastic crumbled off the scope.

I learned my lesson 20 years ago with a bushnell that was completely fogged when a nice buck came out. I wouldn't even consider BSA, Tasco, or Simmons. Spend the money for quality optics and you'll never regret it.

I got an NcStar Pistolero to put on a Contender and it was un useable with any light source behind it due to excessive glare. I am pretty certain there was little to no lens coatings. On the plus side the glass was VERY clear with no light behind me and I kid you not it was clearer than my VX-R at the same power level. Pretty certain most major label Chinese made scopes are all coming out of the same handful of OEMs.

BSA Cats Eye - failed on my 10/22 in a matter of weeks.
Agree with Burris being very reliable have on on my Varmit Rock River and my wife can 3 rounds in one hole at 100 yards with it.
Nikon and Pentax have never failed me at the range or in field.

I've had some decent Simmons' scopes. The Whitetail Expedition, Whitetail classic (midway special), and ATEC were pretty decent back in the late 90s-2000s. These days though they seem pretty trashy. I've not looked through one of the newer ones (since the buy out), but if exterior looks are indicative of anything, they're total trash. That said, I'd consider the worst optic brands to be below: BSA NcStar Barska Tasco These days I've only got Leupold VX-3 and Zeiss scopes on my rifles, with the exception of one Simmons Pro-Hunter on my 10-22. It's a cheap beater rifle for kids, and shooting coons from the truck, so I don't feel too bad about that. I'm sure there are much better out there, obviously there are, but Leupold & Zeiss are the "bottom level" of quality I'm willing to accept. I can count on them, as well as the companies if I ever have a warranty problem. If I could afford a NF, S&B, or the like, I'd absolutely buy them, but I work for a living .

While I've had bad experiences with every brand I've owned, the worst has been with a NcStar that came on a rifle. First and last I'll ever own. I wouldn't even give it away, it got scrapped. That POS was just awful. Once a squirrel farted about 30 yards away and the crosshairs moved....

NcStar. I traded for an SKS with a NcStar 4x32. The glass sucked big time and crosshairs were crooked, but it looked really cool(sarcasm)

One of the worst scopes I've had in recent times was a Cabela's brand scope that came on a Savage .17HMR. Adjusting the side focus for parallax would move the point of impact. If you adjusted focus you had to re-zero.
I did enjoy shooting that scope to pieces though. I set it up at 100 yards, facing me and then shot through the front objective.
