I don't think I would do a shoulder mount personally, but can see why some folks would and don't see anything wrong with it. If I found the sheds of a deer I had hunted for multiple years but he had eluded me, I probably would though.
Interesting topic, never really thought about mounting the sheds before. I do like the mounts STX posted. I can definitely see doing that.

I mount animals to preserve the memory of the hunt and taking that animal. I don't have many mounts and only one deer(nothing special but first decent,for me anyways, buck.) Finding horns on the ground doesn't cut it for me. I feel no connection to that animal. But, like jorge said about showing how far you've came in your management practices and hanging them at the lease would be kinda cool. I doubt many people would be willing to donate their 170" bucks for the camp house wall, maybe though. So shed antlers or found skulls would be perfect. I don't know if you were asking me or simple saying "why not mount them" but I typed that out on my phone already. Ha ha :Also, it doesn't matter to me if someone does and I wouldn't knock them if they did. I just wouldn't do it. Understood. Thx.
