I can confirm across the st from OSK. Was not open on sat. Not sure when it will open.

Bobwills...
The briskets get the coupon the day before the sell by date. Unfortunately they sold out 2 cases on sat at $1.50/# so no coupon was available.

As said in other posts above, it will open across the street from Off-Site Kitchen. Intersection of Wycliff and Irving Blvd. Allegedly opening tomorrow, but then again, it was supposed to open at the end of February.

Hutchins is decent BBQ. We frequent it after church due to proximity to the church and the fact it is easy to get in and out. The smoked chicken and peppered sausage are really good, but the brisket and ribs are so-so. Great sides though. Okra, beans, fries, are all great. The Hutchins family also owns Randy White's BBQ in Frisco. Pretty much the exact same menu itms and sides, but they serve a few Randy White themed entree's like the Manster Sandwich.

I made my third visit to Buzzie's BBQ in Kerrville today.... the brisket was amazing. They just keep getting better and better down there. It melts like butter. I spent some time in the back with the guys that run the place. They are smoking with Oak at temp's around 250... they are actually using a trimmed select grade brisket... which is hard to believe but he said the most important thing is consistency when your doing 30 a day and he said that's what he gets with these...

Just a heads up if your in the Midland/Odessa area. There are no BBQ places here worth trying. KDs, Johnny's and Jack Jordan's not remotely close to Coopers, Lums etc. I hate that we have all kinds of eats but these BBQ joints suck.

Johnny's use to be good many yrs ago. It has changed hands no bueno. KDs is hyped. By far the worst BBQ I have had.

I went to KD's again on my last trip to Monahans / Midland..... it was average at best. And above average cost. With all that oil production money out there, surely a good place will open.

The one on Camp Bowie has great catfish, but that's mostly it.

Riskey's North Richland Hills was our choice b/c I have always wanted to try their AYCE (all you can eat) beef ribs due to being hooked on Big Smiths (Yantis, TX) brisket's-on-the-bone but would have to quit my job to have time to drive all the way out there. Too East for me! After trying 2 of my dining-mates 5 rib basket, that plan is out the window.
Guess I will have to try Love and War's Sunday AYCE deal.
Any reviews on that?

I dont know, that sirloin is hard to pass up....

Coopers bbq was to blame the first time i ever saw my old man "lose his dinner." He said it was the greasy bbq we had for lunch but we all knew it was the jim beam, he just couldnt admit it.

I too was surprised that Smitty's was not on the list. I prefer it to Black's.

I ate at Hutchins in McKinney today. First time since they reopened after the fire. Had Brisket, Ribs and Sausage.

Brisket was good, it was moist and had a decent bark. No need for sauce.

St Louis ribs were very good they have added a little sweet glaze to their ribs and it really stands out. Not overly sweet just a little. No need for sauce.

Sausage was store bought but was good. No need for sauce.

Sides Mac & cheese & Potato salad were average at best. Price was decent!

I'll go back!

Have not seen it yet, but the food critics are like the movie critics, usually don't have a clue!
