sorry for the rookie questions but thanks guys I'm excited to get to work! also what is mld property is that the public areas? I will take as much as we can eat! I don't need a trophy every year or even a buck every year for that matter!

We kid a lot, but IMHO your questions don't qualify as rookie. These are good questions to ask if you're moving to a new state. Some of the guys already mentioned it but go here to find the state regs on hunting & fishing:

Then look hard & long for a place to hunt. Get to know the guys around you that hunt and don't ever be afraid to ask for an opinion on here. Some of us (especially me) will "fun" with you but you'll get some good info that may save you some $$$.

Now if you had asked which is better .308 or 30.06...uhhhh never mind - bolt

haha ok well thank you! and I am reading up at the moment it is kinda surprising the amount of differences from state to state so far all the info and welcomes have been great glad I found this site....but wait what is better for deer 22lr or 30-08 haha... even though I am coming from california I think I have a caliber or bow for anything you guys have, my new lr-308 will be done in one week by the way looking forward to using that on some hogs!
