Hey guys I see people talking about different suppressors on here frequently, and I've never really chimed in. Well, now I realize I should have asked questions earlier... I've got a Ruger Mk III with a standard barrel, that I want to suppress. My first thought is to get an integral suppressor, but thinking about it more and more, I think I want something a little more versatile - aka something I can use on my 10/22 What would y'all recommend as a good, effective, suppressor that can be used on a 10/22 AND Ruger Mk III, and not look ridiculous Or...should I just get an integral suppressor for BOTH guns, so they look as if they belong with their respective gun? If that's the route I go, I'm thinking something like this

As a regular take-off can to be used for both? Or as an integral for each gun? If as a take-off, what length would you recommend?

I wish I owned an integral suppressor. It will probably be my next purchase. I really want to build an integral suppressed 10/22 SBR (short barrel rifle) -- it'll cost me two $200 stamps.
In the time being however, I started off with a .22 LR thread-on. It works like a champ. I use it all the time for dispatching varmints. I keep it on a single-shot bolt action rifle and shoot Remington Subsonics through it.
The next suppressor I bought was a .308/300BLK that I could use on most of my larger rifles. I can shoot .223 through it and it works VERY effectively.
A thread-on suppressor is going to give you the most versatility. If you get a "Quick Detach" (QD) mount, it may be cool, but you will end up spending a lot of money on QD adapters ($50-80/gun.) That is ON TOP of having them threaded if they are already not.
That's just my two cents.

I have these....both the AAC Element and the Silencerco SS Sparrow.... Browning Buckmark Tactical Solutions with SS Sparrow GSG 1911 .22 LR--5" and 3" model (AAC Element on the bottom) The SS Sparrow and the AAC Element are the best two rimfire suppressors as they can be taken apart easily and cleaned and they are good for .22 LR, .17 HMR, .22 Mag and 5.7 x 28. Both are very quiet, I would not get an integral suppressed gun as you can't move it from gun to gun. I have 8 rimfires (rifles and pistols) and I can switch the suppressor to any of them at any time....if you get an integral suppressor, you only have one gun. They are addicting to shoot and you will have the coolest thing at the range! Here are a few of my other quiet toys..... Excel Accelerator .22 Mag and Browning Buckmark Tactical Solutions Remington 597 VTR and 597 AAC-SD Savage Twins--93BTVS .22 Mag and .17 HMR

I've had an AAC pilot for years and its done well as a screw on model. Whatever you do get one you can disassemble to clean. The self contained ones are a pain. The Element is a great option. Once you get one you'll want more so my other suggestion is to get one .223 rated so you can use it on a lot of different guns. If you buy a .308 can u can use it on a 22 and it still be pretty decent depending on the model. My SWR 30 can is really good on a 22 as well. If I started over id just buy the best .30 cal can I could afford and use it for everything.

My Gemtech Outback II cannot be disassembled. However, I have put 2000+ rounds through it without a need. I blow it out with a can of air. Only once have I cleaned it with a solvent (mineral spirits.) I'd say it functions as good as the day I bought it.

Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.
