you might take a minute and read page 78 of the manual.
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting.......holy kaka.....What a Ride!

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/regulations/fish_hunt/hunt/nongame/ The only birds not protected by any state or federal law are European starlings, English sparrows, feral rock doves (common pigeon, Columba livia) and Eurasian collared-doves; these species may be killed at any time, their nests or eggs destroyed, and their feathers may be possessed. Yellow-headed, red-winged, rusty, or Brewer's blackbirds and all grackles, cowbirds (does not include cattle egret), crows, or magpies may be controlled without a federal or state depredation permit when found committing or about to commit depredations on ornamental or shade trees, agricultural crops, livestock, or wildlife, or when concentrated in numbers and in a manner that constitutes a health hazard or other nuisance.

I Luv it. Got to like Texas... they word it so you can shoot them any time you like because they are always "about to commit depredation"

Use a Foxpro, the crow fight sound works great. Owl decoys seem to help too.

Put an owl decoy (Tractors Supply) on a pole, start calling. Once one crow see's it they will all come. They hate owls.

If you shoot at the first crow coming, you better kill it because if you miss, it will alert all the rest. Crow hunting is a blast and more difficult than you might think.

Hi guys,
That is Texas Matt, of the Texas Crow Patrol, with his "Metro Maxus". A fine decrowing tool, indeed.

This is one of my favorite things to do in the off season. I have found that for me here in E. Texas I am most successful when i can find a large oak or pine canopy to set up and call under. This way the only way for the crows to investigete is to come in under the canopy, and once they do that they are in shotgun range and most of the time dead. However, since the trees have lost their leaves this is hard to do. If there is no canopy and the crows can flyby out of range and see no movement of a fight or other crows, only a few will come in. Or, they may have been called before.
Wear plenty of camo and be very still. They are very smart, have great eyesight, and shy/flare at the slightest imperfection. Used to they would dive bomb us but not anymore.
Hope this Helps, Goodluck!

Best thing about crowing is nothing to clean. Whether you kill one or one hundred.
