I have just been wondering what kind of awesome builds y'all have done on your rifles. I plan to do one soon and wanted to brainstorm, thought this was the best way, knowing some of y'all have made some pretty sick guns. Please post a pic of your gun and also include model, scope (brand&specs) and everything you have done to it. Looking forward to seeing your setups...

Hunt with several different rifles but two of my favorites plus the AR

Dakota Little Sharps 38-55

Marlin 1894 in 357 Mag

The 6.5 Grendel AR does see a little action

Thanks, as much as I love hunting with it, I do not as often as I would like to. Would hate to scratch up bastogne walnut stocks. even with my 50 year old eyes shooting 2 inch groups at 100 yards is easy to do with it.

that was a bucket list gun for me, that I never thought I would own. Then found this one used at a gun show, bought it and never regretted that decision

not much on the surface but this rifle has the barrel floated, action bedded, trigger job done and a sweet sling.

It's my favorite gun in my collection

Top: Rem 700ltr in .308
Bottom: Rem 700? in 7mag

Only use the .308 - inherited the 7mag and need to clean it and get a new trigger.

Go bad after 30 years??? It was given to me in 1984 from my great uncle and we have no idea how long he had it before that. No telling how old it is but it is still bad enough to drop game in their tracks. Expecting scope to go out any day and that will be one sad sad day

My Remington 700BDL SPS .270 is my everyday hunting rifle. H-S Precision Stock, Jewell Trigger set at 2 lbs, Zeiss Conquest 6.5x20 Scope.

My Remington 700BDL action on a custom build .280 that I use mainly for Mule Deer hunts. Master Series build by Rifles Inc. with a Remington BBL action, Jewell Trigger set a 2 lbs, McMillan Master's stock, barrel is match grade stainless steel Lilja #5 and scope is Swaro Z-6 5x30. I got higher power scope to use in West Texas when walk/stalk hunting Mule Deer. The barrel has a teflon matte finish to match the action.

It started out as a stevens 270. Got a pac-nor barrel, timmney trigger, vortex ffp pst scope. We then wildcatted it to a 300 win necked down to 264. Shoots great out to 800. That's as far as I can get to shoot. Oh, also jeweled the bolt and fluted the barrel and tried to cut out some of the stock to make it as light weiht as we could. Its 7.5 lbs with scope and loaded.

Rocksprings...and didn't shoot him from the road, shot him from the porch, down a fenceline. No need to go sit in 95 degree heat when you could sit on the porch, under fans staying hydrated...while watching long corn trails. grin

It's a very nice looking rifle. Nice cat too.

Here's one of my ARs that I used to hunt with before I purchased my 6.8. I will most likely be retiring it now with the addition of the new rifle that I finished last week.

And that's the new 6.8 on the right. Ive only put 30 rounds through it but I love it.

Use to hunt with this DPMS with PRS stock, full float rail and SS 3x9 before loosing it in an unfortunate boating accident.

Now I just use a politically correct single shot TC with Nikon 3x9 Omega, which is entirely safe for sporting only use. Most likely approved by police agencies and school aged children's parents...

I just took some pics of my Whitworth .375 Holland that's going with me to Africa in July. The barrel was chopped from 24 to 22" and a Decelerator pad was added to make it more user friendly. Scope is a 1.8x5.5 Zeiss Conquest in Warne mounts.

Typically, this is my go-to gun. Win. 70 push feed in .300wsm, bedded/floated B&C stock, Nikon Monarch 5-20x44SF-BDC, Rifle Basix trigger set at 2#.

However, I used my Rem. 700 BDL .25-06 this year. Bought it off of the forum as a college graduation present for myself. Threw my spare Nikon 4.5-14x40SF Buckmaster on it. Trigger set by previous owner under 2#, need to fix that, but it dang sure shoots good the way it sits.

Although it took a doe and a cull in the hands of guests the year before last, finally got to harvest something with it myself this year after shelfing the WSM.

I love the wood guns but I am fixing to build me a synthetic to tote around the woods and not have to worry about it as much.

A lot of nice rifles posted.

This ol' #1 is currently my favorite. It's not exceptionally accurate but I just like it. Classic looks in a classic caliber (270 Win). I'll be doing a lot more hunting with the rifle in the future.

Not much of a picture of the gun but its all I got.

Rem 700 sendero, the original chambered in 270 win with leupold 3-9x40. Bought it when I was 10, dad said I would regret not having a wood stock, now he says if I ever sell it he wants it.

Last year was primarily the Savage 11 Hog Hunter. I got my suppressor two weeks ago, so this will be MUCH quieter.

Thanks!!

All the above. They are lighter, less drag and look cool mainly. I had mine machined.

whats the average price to get that done ?
I think I paid around $100-125 a few years ago.

This is my new custom build rifle made by Jim Stewart out of south Texas. It's calibered in 6.5x284. Has a Defiance Rebel action, Hart trigger, Shillings barrel, custom Mannors stok and I'm going to top it off with a Night Force scope(the scope pictured is just one he used to test fire it with). I'm going to pick it up tomorrow and will have more picks to follow

I've inherited all of my guns, mostly shotguns, a .22, and a couple handguns. Two winters ago I bought my "first" gun. It's a Browning BAR II Safari in 30-06. I absolutely love this rifle.

I love my LTR. It is my favorite, and if it is clean and you miss with it, that means YOU missed.

Surely, that is a "before" picture. The "after" picture shows the laminated stock on the rifle and the black stock in a dumpster!

Otherwise, fine rig for stand hunting in big country.....

My favorite three hunting rifles at this moment on the left is a Kimber Montana .243 that has been bedded and painted by Karnis with a Zeiss conquest 3-9 on top. In the Middle is a .223 I put together, using a spikes upper Daniel defense16" 1/7 light weight barrel, yhm Todd jerret handguard,, cmmg lower, using rock river two stage trigger and parts and it's wearing a Leupold mark ar 1.5-4. On the rights is a Remington 700 .308 winchester that has been bedded in a hs stock, fluted and oversized bolt handle thanks to Kampfeld and it's wearing a Zeiss 4.5-14. It's soon to be wearing a yhm suppressor, in the next couple months, if the ATF can hurry up and send my tax stamp!

Lol. Should get the job done. If a draw any doe tags at the ranch this year might have to run out to the ranch and snipe one.
