If hunting HF is so easy, why is this deer still alive? I saw him once after shooting light in November. We have been rifle hunting since October till now. He showed back up last week. The ranch is only 670 acres Summer pic Pic from last week Youre not as good of a hunter as you think you are?

If the argument is a hf makes hunting easier than stop using rifles with scopes
It seems like most people against hf are those who can't afford them. I've never been on a lease with a hf so my opinion isn't biased....I have no problem with people who chose to put them up. Why should I?

My family owns around 2500 acres hf . When we bought the place it was low fenced. We have been high fenced around 9 years now. The deer are just as hard to hunt as they were when the ranch was LF . We see deer that don't show back up for years sometimes. My point really is it doesn't make the actual hunt any easier they are just bigger when you find them.

I don't disagree. My only point was that you can't consider a HF ranch and a 2 acre pen as the same thing or the same type of hunting. Anyone who lives in a suburban area knows how quickly and easily deer can evaporate in the slightest of cover. I can't see why a HF of any reasonable size and cover would be any different. The reason it's different is because there is more to hunting than just finding them. With HF you know they are there-so the biggest unknown of true hunting is taken out of the equation. When I go hunting I don't know if the deer I might be wanting to shoot is on my place or not. HF shooters don't have that issue. But it affects the "finding them" aspect too.A corollary to the above is it's generally easier to find something when you know it's there. So the HF gives the advantage in every way possible. Of course, that's why they are built.... If that is the case, why isn't this buck dead on my 670 acres HF What about this buck? No one ever saw this buck in person all season. Is he dead? Gone nocturnal ? Avoided feeders? Etc? Sure he might be there, but doesn't mean he will ever show up. What people, like you, don't understand is that you aren't hunting any buck. You are looking for a buck that meets a certain requirement. I will agree that it is easier to kill a buck over the age of 5.5+ because they aren't shot at 2.5 or 3.5 Sounds like you have a lot of experience hunting behind a fence I could have sworn there was a 6pt last yr that had similar habits of not coming around the stands during daylight..where did he go? Yep. He showed up late in the season and took a bullet. The ways these guys talk, you should be able to kill a particular buck on any given day hunting HF. For the question about hunting low fenced, yes I do. We have a small amount of property outside the fence. What is funny about the elusive big 8, we were trying to kill him last year as well to no avail. Can someone show me where he is?

He's bedded on that larger point in the lower left corner, just north of that tank. Assuming the wind is out of the South, of course.

Tye has both those problems it seems. Yes we do. The hogs started showing back up on cameras 3 weeks ago. Probably getting a group together for this weekend coming up. I have friends with some Awesome Toys to shoot them with. These were taken the weekend before New Years

i just asked because i noticed your sig...just seemed, kind of, well...
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

But you fish according to sig pic. How dare you do that knowing they can't escape. By having a boundary, you must must where the big ones are once you get to the pond, tank, lake etc.

I hunt LF all my life my dad and I bought a managed hunt in a HF I sat in stand 2 straight days (packed a lunch) and didnt see anything had to go two different weekends until I got a buck. my dad has yet to get his so we will make it 3 times and this is only on 550 acres. I thought the same thing and called it a (canned) hunt and after hunting this place It is just as hard to get them as on a low fence only the deer are bigger. The deer dont want to die any more on a HF then they do on a LF. When I shot it it didnt have bells around its neck and wasent let loos from a tree. I would recomend anyone to go on a HF hunt at least once in there life. And again I am a LF hunter
If I put my wife in a high fence will her rack get bigger?
