I don't go to public ranges or WMA's, there are idiots out there. That love to preach ethics to others.

But you support all the hunters that are drinking while they hunt on public land. Along with lots of other people on this thread. Thats what this is all about along with littering No, it's about you and your perception of what you think happened/happens. Nothing more

I hunt a lot of public land in the Winter time up in Nebraska. I don't drink there because #1 it's against the law, #2 I'm walking for miles & miles through snow & ice carrying a gun. We do our beer drinking going to & from the hunting grounds, (lots of dirt roads) or at the house afterwards. Back home, every once in a while I like to sit in a deer blind with a 6 pack of cold beer & shoot spikes & does in the head with a 22 cal centerfire, (yes I'm being serious). I've never had an accident & never will because I drink responsibly & I'm not a moron. Call me unethical, I don't care. As far as trash, that is a pieve of mine. I never leave trash, I always end up picking up other peoples though. I also teach my kids to bring back more than they brought in.

Numerous hunters admitted here they drink while hunting. There are empty beer cans all over the bannister wma. Including deep in the woods up to 2 miles off any trails. There are 80, 000 acres of national forest but you think local kids all flock to the 15,000 acres of wma land instead of the rest of the national forest . And walk 2 miles in the woods to drink. Get real

One of my fondest memories was a morning my Dad and I met up on the side of a mountain in Colorado and polished off a flask of good whisky. Sure did seem to warm up after that!

I thought this thread was about trash being in the outdoors? How it got switched to drinking I don't know. How ever, there is no excuse for leaving any trash of any kind in the outdoors. Put it in your back pack when you walk out. On the drinking issue, people go hunting and to the lease in general to relax. Having a few beers while hunting is relaxing. Im not talking about getting hammered while hunting, but once back in camp or when your done hunting I don't care how drunk you get as long as your not putting me in danger. Who am I to tell you what to do. And if you don't wanna hunt with people that drink buy a place and hunt with non drinkers, or lease a place with a group of non drinkers or don't go at all. But sitting here preaching at everyone trying to make them out to be bad guys for drinking at the lease is out of bounds. Just about like telling people they can't own guns.

Yep, first morning I ever hunted Nebraska it was 3 degrees with a wind chill of -17. Talk about a culture shock for a boy from S Texas. Before we got out of the truck my FIL told me to reach under the seat & grab that bottle of peppermint snopps, get you a swig or two it will warm you up he said. Well, it did!

Get real Me, a sheltered life? Look Mr. Rightous Ecowarrior, I have stalked the woods for over 40 years, public and private. Sometimes we imbibe when we hunt sometimes we don't. I also traipsed those same public woods in the 70's as a teenager followed by fellow teenagers with whatever alcohol we could get our hands on, a trash can to "blend" it in and provisions to stay overnight. We went there because guess what? The cops were not there. As you have jumped to yet another of your own conclusions about me I will make one about you. You received Atomic wedgies by the jocks when you were in school, you drove your dads hand me down 4 door sedan and you never got invited to "those parties in the woods". You want to spew baseless assumptions, I will play along. I bet mine are closer to the truth than yours are.

Thats what this is all about along with littering I dont support drinking while hunting on public land, i never said anything referring to public land or wma's! I have a few beers in the stand and watch deer on MY lease. The reason i was irritated was because you comdemned all people who drink while hunting.

Its only January 26 and we already have the "Most Ridiculous Logic of the Year" thread.
I saw beer cans on WMA. Therefore, all beer drinkers are litterers.
By this logic: I saw water bottles on WMA. Therefore, all water drinkers are litterers.
I saw food packaging on WMA. Therefore, all food eaters are litterers.

We got what you said and the direction you were going in your first post. Who drinks beer while hunting.
From your first post. Alcohol and firearms. Are you for real. Perfect example of why hunters and gun owners have a bad name
First sentence in your second post. I have a hard time believing that hunters can be responsible when drinking while hunting First sentence in your third post. You started on the drinking from the very first post. Be carefull crawfishing you bump into allot of things.

I did...The range master wasnt upset because I brought enough for him as well... It's called ethics
Like I said earlier , take a couple of beers to the public shooting range and see if you get any preaching. When you do tell him your a grown man and don't like being told what to do.
Tell me what happens next

I drink when I'm hunting! It' s my time to relax and take it easy! How many hundreds of thousands of hunters in texas go hunting and drink, with very few accidents? Of course, I pick my trash up, like many, many, many other hunters. I don' think I know of anyone who does'nt, besides my uncle, who is on the wagon!
