This is my Iowa buck taken on public land in NE Iowa during 2012 1st shotgun season. Scored just under 167". Typical 10.

12 gauge with slugs. Rifles not allowed for deer in this part of Iowa.

did you hunt near the river? This bad boy was taken on the Mississippi River Bluffs. I was standing along the railroad tracks when I shot him.

Lol.....might want to be sure on state laws before shooting or posting on public forums. I grew up there and my families been hunting there for 50+ years, I think I know what's allowed and what isn't. You spend alot of time hunting deer in NE Iowa, do you?

“Trespass” means entering property without
the express permission of the owner, lessee or person
in lawful possession, with the intent to commit
a public offense; to use, remove therefrom, alter,
damage, harass, or place anything animate or inanimate,
or to hunt, fish or trap on the property. The
term trespass does not mean entering the right-ofway
of a public road or highway.
Railroad right-of-ways
are considered private property.
This paragraph does not prohibit the unarmed
pursuit of game or furbearing animals lawfully
injured or killed which come to rest on or escape to
the property of another.
