I don't disagree. My only point was that you can't consider a HF ranch and a 2 acre pen as the same thing or the same type of hunting. Anyone who lives in a suburban area knows how quickly and easily deer can evaporate in the slightest of cover. I can't see why a HF of any reasonable size and cover would be any different.

Have always wondered if people who are against HF hunting are also against bass fishing? Do they call it catching instead of fishing?

we have names for the bucks on our LF places, just easier to talk about them when looking through pics.

thats a clown comparison, bro. HF hunting is more comparable to fishing in a pond.

Is there anything wrong with fishing in a tank?

And, are you a yankee? We don't call 'em ponds down here.

East Texas don't count. It's just west Louisiana.

I wouldn't mount any 15 lb. fish. I would eat it.

and because i am bored at work and because i like to prove i am right, a quick search of "pond" on the TEXAS hunting forum revealed 90 posts in the last 2 weeks. and that doesnt count the times "ponds" was used.

a search of "tank" revealed 105 posts in the last 3 weeks, many referring to some sort of fuel tank or piece of equipment.

thanks for playing, lock it bobo! this ones done!

Funny thing is in South Texas they are called tanks a lot as in Red Tank or Maguey Tank or Little Mule Tank. On plats or topo maps you will see "tanque" as in Tanque Noche Triste or Tanque Grava or Tanque Los Tres Puertas for water encatchments or tank on every one instead of the word "pond". Tanque translates to tank I believe. So it is more regional as to what you would call them. To me a pond is what frogs live in.

They're ponds where they're used for recreational catching....in other parts where you have to have them to have water they're called tanks...I call'em ponds. If that's the only source of water for livestock in a pasture they're stock tanks.

i was gonna say a tank is a pond built for a reason but thought that i might have just made that up, so i didnt say it.

Low fence is for poor folk. Only gentleman hunters with money should hunt high fence. stir

Have you ever caught one? I would put it on the wall! Now if you caught a 15 pounder every other cast, maybe not. What would your requirement be for putting on on he wall? I know people that have gone to Mexico and fished large lakes. They caught several bass between 10-15 lbs in 2-3 days.

It would have to be made of antlers to put on the wall. Since fish are made of meat, I eat them.

Then, in Texas, they're all tanks, since they're all made for a reason.
