Why you think?

On second thought maybe Ms. Howel would be a good match for an older gent that frequents here... makes short jokes and blasts spikes?

I find it amusing Texas is the only place HF is commonly accepted as hunting.

They are common in most states that have a rep for hunting, just not as prevailent as Texas. Go to Colorado and get you an Elk with 100% opportunity. You can even pick the score. Got Illinois, Kansas, Iowa, and you can hunt a HF. 100% opportunity and pick the score.

Sort of reminds me of chasing girls in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Right on!

I always thought something just an inch shorter than what is considered high fence would be the solution.

This chit is crazy! So lets see....we have High fences, put and take operations, breeder bucks being auctioned like cattle, none of the chit killed qualifies for the record books because either the animal is a genetic experiment or the fact that the petting zoo perimeter disqualifies it (high fence), and guys claiming that they wont shoot a buck unless its over 170, and you think this is perfectly normal when tied to the word hunting........geez

It would be a lot easier just to go up to Northern Kansas,Iowa, or Illinois and shoot a naturally grown big azz buck rather than concocting a Jurassic park in drought ridden, nutritionally lacking Texas and then feeling the need to justify and defend it to the "Haters"...... just saying....

I look at it for what it is every day. I dont prefer a hi fence, but I definately understand why they are here.

I also know that in my opinion they are abused pretty badly in several instances. Ive hunted on the other side of the fence from people who shot everything that walked buck does young old etc. If I could have put up a fence I would have but didnt own the land. As of now Im happy with neighbors etc and am happy to be low fence. I think the only silly thing is all the people griping about hi fences. Its not your land they cant enter them in the record books so gosh darn get off your hi horse and let people do as they will with their money land time and deer.

100% on board with this except much of TX is not "nutritionally lacking"- it's just that the 160-170 deer with an occasional Booner were not good enough. So the fences went up, the hunting stopped, and the killing began.

And I scoff at those who think putting up a HF and ruining 2-4 of your neighbors' properties for hunting is A-OK under a "property rights" argument. What you really mean is my rights are more important than yours. (Yeah,I know it's legal. But that doesn't make it right.)

No what it means is that you own the rights to your property, not your neighbors.

When we bought our property that was a concern of our, we bought it knowing we may get fenced down the road.

How did it ruin the 2-4 neighbors property? Aren't they now hunting and managing deer that the HF ranch isn't?
