I wouldn't say Academy is doing anyone any favors, just giving folks hope that they might have ammo to get more folks run through the store to spend money on other things in there. For a single product like ammo, $ is $, doesn't matter if 1 person buys it or 20, but you get other things bought when 20 ppl know they're already going to have to stand in a check-out line.

The one in Shreveport is a 5 box max. In Longview I dont think they implimented it yet. I went in the other day and guys were ringing up over 50 boxes of 223 at a time.

Academy in Sherman has ammo in those limited calibers on display at customer service, box of this, box of that but total of 3 boxes max.

Dropped in Academy in the Houston burbs probably ~30-45m after opening. They had probably a dozen or less boxes of nine, three different types of 20 round boxes 223 now that they have the new policy.

I guess 50 rounds of 9mm is better than 0 rounds. I didn't buy any other calibers so I was a little disappointed I could only walk away with a single box though.

I was the same way. I would have picked up 3 boxes of .40 instead of the bulk can of 250. Oh well!

I'm glad they are trying. Walmarts around here are doing the same. I must say that the paranoid crowd that has to buy as many guns and ammo as they can because they are scared of the government scare me almost as much as the socialist gun grabbers running our country. If I were the anti gunners I would use it against us and claim that the crazy gun people are stocking up to do crazy things. IDK. I just want to hunt and shoot now and then and the ones making it tough for guys like me to buy a couple boxes of the ammo right now aren't very appreciated. No matter which side of the fence they are on.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

That's an expensive and very long range trip!

Plano Academy (Parker/Tollway) has plenty of 40s&w out of 223 and 9mm as of this afternoon.

I like this...to a point. One box is a little small. Cabelas here in Fort Worth are doing 10 boxes, and they might as well not have a limit as its still almost gone instantly as it doesn't take too many people taking 10 boxes each to take them all. Somewhere in the middle would be good. I like the 1 gun a week idea though, gives people a better chance to get one, even though I believe we wont see a ban on those "MSRs" anytime soon.

Reasonable limits should be 3 boxes, 1 box is a bit rough. Part of me wishes that ammo prices would go up and stay up until the supply can catch up. Then I would like to see the stores drop prices drastically overnight. Point is that I would love nothing more than to see the ammo flippers loose money. I know, not very realistic I just wish there was a way to bring a little financial pain to those that are trying to exploit the situation.

Worst part is they are limiting .38 spl as well, even though it's not on the list (in Austin anyway).

I like it, I was able to get 100 rounds of 45 at my academy yesterday when they have previously been sold out non stop.

AGREED! Now if they'll just give a military discount.

Academy can do very little wrong by me. They don't get everything right, but it's Academy. And for us sportsman, it's one of the best stores in the whole wide world.

THE RIGHT STUFF THE RIGHT PRICE... wait for it... wait for it... ACADEMY!

I will honestly say if 1 person wants to buy every box of ammo on the shelf and has the money then they should, it's not like they're running some special sale on it. I find it odd folks will both fight and want regulation at the same time so long as it somehow benefits them stir

And people say preppers/hoarders are crazy for stockpiling but yet at times like these they are the ones that are crazy for paying double if not triple what the ammo typically costs
