This year it will be held January 19th & 20th. The hunt will start saturday at noon and go till sunday at noon. Entry fee is $200 a team, up to a 4 man team. Side pots for big dog, big cat, and big pig will available. Pigs are not in the main pot, just a side bet. This is a calling only contest, absolutey no chasing or running with dogs. I will upload the rule sheet later. We had a good turnout last year for our first year. 26 teams came out and over $6,000 was handed out at the end. It is a 100% payout tournament. Checkin will be at 11:00 A.M. at the Gander Mountain lodge in Amarillo. well i wish i had some country down by you and id like to try the coyote calling championship. Maybe in the future ill make the drive.

Well Tex with the mail ins like we do you can still hunt in it . We had hunters from all over last year . a couple from New Mexico .

Yeah it still cuts about 4 hours out of hunting time. Sometimes 4 hours can make a huge difference. I'm tempted to do it, we'll just have to see how this one goes.

Its some of the best in the panhandle, that's where most of the winning teams come from. You get into that rolling sage country and the coyotes are thick, especially if your on a ranch with cows calving. Also some good cats up there too.

Well I got 40,0000 acres at Dalhart and 15,000 at Dumas . Im headed up there Wednesday to check it out .
Hopefully it will pan out .

Ended up with 32 teams this year. It was a great hunt with nice weather.
1st 11 coyotes
2nd 4 coyotes, 2 cats
3rd 4 coyotes, 1 cat
Paid out over $7,000
Thanks to everyone who came, hope to see you all next year, I'll be ready to defend the title.
