Does anyone have pics of there game cam set up...I just bought a Moultrie 100....(fyi Walmart had them marked down to $78) I don't have any big trees so I'm thinking of setting up 5 gal bucket with cement and 4x4x4 mount cam and solar panel to it....any suggest or pics would be great....

That is what I did only with a 2x4. It has worked out well and can be repositioned or moved easily. If you have any cattle or hogs though this might not work because the bucket could get knocked over and the camera stepped on and smashed.

No trees where I am either so we used a 5 gallon bucket with cement and mounted cam and solar panel to a 1x6. We also rapped the whole thing in a 3d leafy material. Looks pretty good and is working great. Also if the pics weren't right it would be easy to move setup.

A lot of the Moultree 100's that Wal-Mart sold have a programming problem and would drain the batteries like you are talking about. A friend of mine had one doing the same thing. He sent it back to Moultree and they sent it back with a note saying they reprogrammed the PWA's microprocessor and now it works like a charm and will last 4 to 6 weeks even without a solar panel.
Mine is one of the early camo models with the solar panel attachments on the outside of the case. It has taken over 600 pictures on one battery charge. I have to come up with a better way to mount the solar panel. Every time I attach it to the T post that the camera is mounted on the stupid cows rip it off the post. I guess a T post makes a good scratching post too.

ALL RIGHT I HAVE TWO DIFFERENT BRANDS OF CAMERAS I **THINK** THE ONE I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH WAS THE MOULTRIE
I CALLED THEM AND WAS ABOUT TO TELL THEM IT JUST HAD A FEW DAYS LEFT ON THE WARRANTY WHEN THE GUY CUT ME OFF AND BASICALLY SAID JUST SEND IT IN WE'LL TAKE CARE OF IT. I ASKED IF I NEEDED TO SEND THE RECIEPT AND HE SAID "HE SAID NO JUST SEND IT IN"
I'LL TRY TO REMEMBER TO BRING THE PHONE # MONDAY AND HE SAID SEND IT TO THE ADDRESS THAT IS BEHIND THE BATTERY.

I too have a Wildview Extreme II. Haven't had a battery issue. Takes decent pcitures for the price. I mount it on trees that are protected somewhat from the cows so they won't rub on it.

I won't buy anything Moultrie makes anymore. I have my share of their crap. Feeders, timers,.... I admit I was suckered by the price but, the hassle of the problems is not worth it to me. Especially when your sitting in the stand on opening day and the feeder quit working since the last time you were there!

One more thing, the bucket setup would never work on my place. I like the idea but, hogs really tear stuff up and if there are cows in the pasture they will rub on it an it will be toast in the first couple of days.

My $0.02

I have the moultrie digital game spy with the solar panels. I made a similar set up but used a plywood base with 2x4's criss crossed to keep the hogs from knocking it over. So far it has worked well and have not had really any battery issues. The LCD display on the front is starting to go bad though. Has anyone else had this problem?

When to check my Mooultrie game cam...after sitting for a week it took one pic....mistake #1 set cam to far from feeder. I was 38' away...I'm guessing the flash is good for 30' but the sensor/trigger is good at 20'-25'??? also does anyone know what the "E" for event is for....I had 58 events with 15 pics....(7 day of set up 1 Thur and 7 more day of recover) events???
