Man, I thought I was the only one who didn't agree with the trend either. I never seem to have problems with a clean barrel. There is just no way I am going to let any of my firearms sat for an extended period of time with a dirty barrel. After I clean the barrel, I do run a final loose dry patch down the barrel to take care of any excess oil.

There ya go! Now we are the minority rather than me.

My guns aren't the cleanest, I ain't fanatical about it, but I don't want to leave a fouled barrel. Especially while having temperature and moisture changes in a field/truck/camp environment.
Kinda feel like a republican around here.......
