So you weren't there, and offer up another side of the story, based on a second party's side of the story that you didn't personally witness. I'm convinced, this thread should be deleted and everyone here at THF should book with KSO tomorrow, not.

The fact is, and has yet to be disputed, that the customer made a deal, then the deal was changed in the middle, and the refund he asked for was for less than it should have been. Tip, or no tip, that is the story as I understand it. Please enlighten us as to what REALLY happened?

Apparently there are two sides to every story and in this case the other side sounds even worse than described by the original poster!

Note to self: Never book with these guys!

I would like to hear the full story. I have never heard anything negative about kso before this. If they under priced a hunt thats on kso. Kso should have to eat the difference. Its the job of the outfitter/guide to know their animals, and price accordingly before the hunt is booked.

Unless there were a couple of people "pretending" to be KSO or an affiliate, we pretty much have the story.

I just read the post about the insulting tip... not good for kso. I think they are finding out how important this hunter actually was. This could get pretty expensive for kso.

A deal is a deal, I am new to the THF and have only just started to book hunts, "first one was with Antler Hunt Ranch had a great time". I guarantee I will NOT even consider KSO.

This is what guides do from a clients point of view:

1. They tell you the story of where you are hunting, the bucks or ducks that were shot there before, how, how big, when and, by who.
2. They listen to your BS
3. They tell you what to except from the ranch and the blind
4. They set the expectation for the hunt
5. They sit around the fire at night and share their stories and if you are smart you listen, because most of them spend way more time outside than any of us
6. They are the expert a teacher of sorts
7. They take care of your animals or at least show you how to do it
8. They are the safety net when you make a good shot but you are unsure

They are there to make sure that you have a good time!!!

If they do these things, then you should take care of them, for some that means some money, for others it may mean leaving a rifle or a bow, for others it is taking them on a hunt and paying for it and, for some it means taking them out to a nice restaurant for a over the top meal. A tip should not be looked at as a monetary measure but a gift of thanks that will last...

Just my opinion...

I could not agree more, great post!

It reminds us that there are more stupid people out there than we thought. I will donate money to your legal fees to prove a point to those DB's. I hope they don't sell another hunt.

My boss called today from Dallas asking about doing a corporate hunt for us fellow employees he sent me an email with some outfitters around our area (Abilene) guess who was on the list... Yep KSO but being avid reader of this here forum guess who got the first scratch off... And now the fortune 500 company I work for in Dallas and Ft worth know this story... Takes many years to build a bridge and one bad review to destroy it.... Well take our business somewhere else

Traded guns with gaharris. Great guy. Have to believe what he says is true. He was more than honest with me. I don't have the money to hunt with someone with KSO, but if I ever come into a windfall, they'll be at the bottom of my list. Good luck with you litigation if you decide to go that way.

No replies from KSO for some time now. I wonder if they'll turn out like those shady outfits that just do a name change but keep the same crappy crooked service.

They are still out there. Here is their add on craigslist. They are no longer listing their outfitter name though. Maybe this is the buck the crawfished on gaharris on. lol. I also have met gaharris. He bought a scope from me once. Super great guy.

Good to know! There are a lot of good guys on here that are very worthy of business. This stuff can and probably will hurt their business.

People are funnny! Real internet badasses! Sometimes you have to make decisions that not everyone is gonna like. Decisions that you dont want to have to make but in the best intrest of your company, family and your product you have to make them. When people get on the internet and bash your buisnes and your family I think its sad. I mean go crawl back into whatever hole it was you came from! Get a life! You are not that important! If you dont know me, my family or the whole story and you got something to say then save it! We have plenty of customers and friends that know what we have to offer and how good our product is! If you are one of these scrubs feel free to dislike our page, I have no problem with that! If you have something you want to say to me then my phone number is at the top of the page! Thanks to all of you who support us and what we do! Corey-KSO

I have never in my life heard of a business being this unprofessional while dealing with a customer. No matter what originally happened, the correct way to deal with a complaint is to a)try and make it right, b)if an agreement can not be made than you humbly apologize and attempt to explain your decision and why you had to make it. I have never heard of a company telling a customer that they don't matter and they have enough business. One thing is you can never have enough business if you plan to be successful at said business. A good review may reach 7 people, but a bad review will reach 10 x that number. Good luck buddy! His interactions on THF are enough to make me take my business elsewhere.

On the hunting show 'Hunt Wicked Close with Ken and Rachel' they are hunting with Kill Shot Outfitters on the Wyatt 210 Ranch. Just shot an 8 point management buck. Supposedly going after the big boy next.

That's my $.02. Here's you're change!!

Well, with these hoity toity types that make television shows as customers i guess $150 is an insulting tip. That could even be why they did what they did to gaharris-so these guys could put those trophy hunts on tv. I bet they don't need us common folks anymore since they have made the big time. More power to them. I was once told "to be a millionaire you can either-make a million dollars off of one person or one dollar off of a million people- depends on how hard you want to work and how you want people to remember you. I choose not to have anything to do with these types...

They just signed up over on the 6.8 forums I post on, I cross posted this thread for them to check out.

Ya know, everytime I think of these guys and this hunt I get more "hissed" off.
I have been on two guided hunts since hunting with the Wyatt boys on the first weekend in November and both of the other hunts were very professionally handled and we had a great time. I hunted mule deer with Mulie Mike and Lonnie Walker and they did a great job and we had a good time.
