My brother in law found a Walmart that still had some Colt 6920 in stock an bought two of them. Said he paid around 1070 or 1100 for each one and plans on putting one of them on gunbroker tonight so that it pays for the other and then he basically has a free Colt.

Mostly just doing it to see how high it will get however if it meets the reserve I'll be happy to sell it, pay off my Credit Cards and buy a few guns.

No catch, mags are luxury items. No one is making people buy them and no one is spending money on them they don't have. It is not the same as taking advantage of people with overpriced baby forumula and generators after a storm. It is not like representing something as something it is not. No shame in selling them for what the current market will bear. I would sell them and spend the money on the family or to put away for your kids future. No shame in that. If I had an extra effected high value item to sell, I would have it on auction right now to go towards my son's first vehicle. Foolish not to IMHO. Family comes first.

If anyone sent you offending pm messages chastising you, send me copies. Appropriate warnings and bans for the applicable trading post rule will be dished out.

trout

I assume you have an FFL. Flipping firearms for profit is dealing in the eyes of the ATF. For the most part it is hard to prove the intent of purchasing a firearm for the purpose of flipping it for a profit. An old ATF sting was to sell a firearm to an unlicensed gun show seller and buy it back the same day at a profit to the show seller. I am sure the ATF has bigger fish to catch than someone flipping an occasional firearm, but some of y'all need to think about what you are doing and posting about.

13. Transactions related to firearms and ammunition:

You are responsible to know and comply with all federal, state, and local laws governing the offering, transfer, and sale of firearms, ammunition and other items. If you are caught engaging in the “business” (as defined by the ATF) of buying and selling firearms without a Federal Firearms License (FFL), your THF account will be closed. Visit these web sites for additional information:

So what exactly is wrong with a low post count? I found this place a few months ago and it's an awesome source of information but i don't have too much to say.

Too bad we cant check a box and have a READ post count. That thing would be in the stratosphere already.

The bad thing is that if less people were willing to sell at these crazy prices, the prices would just be that much higher.

Nothing really wrong with low post counts if someone reads and been around for a while. I joined back in 07 and probably had 30 post in 4 years. Mostly in the classifieds before the 100 post rule was set in place. If you get to know these guys they will BS all day long and your post count will soar. Although you could be like our top posters on the forum and just post popcorn on every thread you see and it will also get your post count up.

I was just making the observation that most of the guys that are buying these rifles at an inflated price are people that have been scouring the internet and found this site in a search engine joined up and posted 1 time "I'll Take It". As a matter of fact I got several PMs about a AR I had for trade a while back. Had to go change my post that it wasn't for trade anymore so I would quit getting messages.

Nothing wrong with low post count but they shouldn't join our site just to buy one gun and then never post again, I think that's disrespectful to the THF IMO.

You sir are good cheers keep on keeping on.

The only regret I am having is 6 months ago I told my FIL that I should buy a couple hundred pmags and that he should too. He said I was crazy. My wife was my witness to this. Dang it. Even at $25 a piece, that was easy money I missed out on.

I'm not selling mine but if others want to and someone's willing to pay the price why is that a bad thing? People have the choice to buy or not buy...their decision.
